Principle of SCR system
Add ammonia (NH3) to nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust
gas and decomposes it into water (H2O) and nitrogen (N2).

【Decompose urea water into ammonia】

NH2CONH2→HNCO+NH3 ・・Thermal decomposition
HNCO+H2O→CO2+NH3 ・Hydrolysis

【Denitrification reaction】
4NO+ 4NH3+O2 → 4N2+6H2O
2NO+2NO2+4 NH3 → 4N2+6H2O
2NO2+4 NH3+ O2 → 3N2+6H2O

Mounting and wiring the sensor
※Regarding the TT6607, it is a sensor for ERCS,
so it is wired not on the JME of the reactor leg
but on the circuit board at the engine side.

Precautions for handling the SCR reactor
Exhaust gas temperature sensor
Do not turn the head part! The tip part
is delicate

Attach and detach at this part

1. The tip (temperature sensitive part) is extremely delicate

2. The head part will be damaged if it is accidentally turned.
3. Installed in 7 places of the main engine and 1 in 1 place of reactor

Precautions for handling the SCR sensor
Environmental sensor (combined sensor)

Detection unit

1. Installed under the Turbocharger silencer

2. Be careful of damage because the detector is exposed

Catalyst
Size:250x250x620mm
Weight︓25kg/1PC

Precaution
※When opening the SCR reactor and working insider or around….
After adequate ventilation, check with a carbon monoxide detector
before work and work with two or more people.
Provide adequate ventilation during internal work.

Possibility of accumulation of toxic carbon monoxide inside the SCR reactor

Handling of catalyst
Work around the catalyst
• There are toxic substances on the surface of the catalyst
and inside the reactor.

• Equipped with appropriate protective equipment to prevent

inhalation and direct skin contact.
