Topic: Animal testing should be banned.
Grade: 8*A

In Favor
With current technology with more powerful computers, simulations of results could be
run, so with this we can avoid testing on animals since they are cruel, and based on the
new regulation and animal rights laws in which it started that what we should avoid let
them suffer in addition to treat them with humanity. Experiments in animals waste a lot
of resources such as money, time and others that can be used to other important things
in human-relevant research. More than fifty percent of all the experiments practiced in
animals are never published because of their irrelevant discoveries and not finding
cures for some illnesses.
Against
Animal testing also is good, because some animals such as mice and pigs are likely like
humans, mice share with us a 98% DNA, and by the fact that they have a shorter life
than us, are the perfect specimens for testing and prove some “cures” doesn’t have
second effects like infertility, internal damage, toxicity, or cancer. Around 95% of testing
animals are rodents (rats and mice specially for laboratory use) and that animals are
only one part of the larger process of biomedical research. The use of animals in some
forms of biomedical research remains essential to the discovery of the causes,
diagnoses, and treatment of disease and suffering in humans and in animals.
