-4 levels: primary, secondary, further, higher

-primary from age: 5-11
-secondary from age: 11-16
-examinations at the end of each Key Stage, most notable one is GCSE
-GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams taken at age 16
-students need five GCSEs for A levels but better universities usually ask for at least 7
GCSEs
-after this students can decide to continue their studies in the form of further education or
sixth form or decide to work
-if they choose to continue their studies they can take their A levels or IBs

-if students choose to go to higher education they will usually study general subjects for
about 3 years and then decide what they want to study specifically
-the category of higher education also includes universities which the UK is very famous for.
-There are many prestigious universities in the UK for example: Cambridge(est 1209),
Oxford(est in 1096), St Andrews(est 1413), Durham(1832)

-compared to hungary the education isn’t too different but

-only compulsory till age 14
-students don't have examinations in between “key stages”
-GCSEs are closest to the matura exams (what i'm writing this for haha) but in HU we take
them later, obvs as im 18 yrs old
-boarding schools aren't popular at all in HU
-most ppl who live in dormitories in the proximity of the school do so bc they live too far from
the school
