Education History My Portfolio
Throughout my life I have always had a strong desire to become a teacher and work with
our tamariki. I have worked in a before and after school care/holiday programme since
2021 onwards which I have definitely enjoyed and have also had a main job working as a
teacher aide looking after children with disabilities at West End primary school. Being a
teacher aide has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences I have ever
had. As a Kaiako, I want to have inclusiveness, equity, and have tamariki within my
classroom feel safe and a sense of belonging. I am a kind and caring person who will
always try my very best with everything I do. I am a really outgoing person who enjoys
getting involved. I will use my knowledge and problem solving skills to help in several
different situations. I am confident and a hard worker, I really look forward to working
alongside ākonga sharing my knowledge and helping them grow and learn, and believe I
would be a great asset to any school.

Teaching experiences-
Over the past few years I've had experience working with
tamariki here New Zealand last year I worked with children
who have disabilities and have learnt all about the need for
inclusiveness, and the importance of caring and nurturing
ākonga. Below are some photos of my teaching experiences
on my first practicum I was at Russell street school I was
able to learn so much, building my knowledge on
structured literacy and building my own teacher presence
in the classroom. My final practicum was at Riverdale
primary school and I was able to learn more about new
entrants and the transition from day care to primary
school, I furthered my knowledge of the curriculum and
continued to build several pedagogies, I also furthered my
skills in Te ao Māori, and am now able to confidently plan
and teach Te Reo Māori. I am always willing to learn new
things and I'm really looking forward to becoming the best
Kaiako I can be.
