Finding the Area of a Kite Using Right Triangles Project

Using right triangles, find the area of the following kite.

Using one of the “report” word document templates, write a report on

finding the area of the kite and share it to the Schoology discussion
board. The report must include: a title, an abstract stating the problem
you wish to address and how it will be addressed in the report, visuals
that enhance the understanding of the math problem, your math work
and explanations of your work, and a conclusion. Once you have posted
your report to the Schoology discussion board, read two other student
reports and respond to their reports using the ABC’s of discussion:
A- Acknowledge the person.
B- Build a mathematical conversation.
C- Continue the conversation with a clarifying question.

Useful tips:
 To add mathematical equations/ expressions in word, go to insert, then click equation.
You can also go to insert to insert pictures and shapes.
 To create geometric graphics, you can use geogebra.org/geometry. Make sure to click on
the button that says “more tools” so you can see all the tools available to you.
 If using a graphic, you did not create (i.e., google searching pictures), be sure to cite your
sources in your report.
 See Mrs. Siano’s example of her math report on finding the area of a regular hexagon if
you are unsure on what to include in your report.
 See Mrs. Siano’s example of her discussion board post if you are unsure about how to
post an appropriate response to your peers.
