How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

✘ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

✘ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:

Write a paragraph describing how the lesson will be implemented using the prompts as your
guide. Remember, this lesson MUST facilitate STUDENT-USE of an audio or video tool to
demonstrate their learning on a topic of your choice:
Now that the students have went home and explored around with the magnetic letters on the fridge
and had their parent/ guardian write down the letters that they were saying. They have now brought
plastic bags that have the upper and lowercase letters categorized. I will now explain what we will be
focusing on and talk about the goals for the activity that I am going to present. I will break the
students into groups of 3-4 so that way they can engage in conversation. I will have different
rotations that students will be rotating to like:
Alphabet Beans matching game: Students will have basket with beans that have each of the letters
of the alphabet in the basket. Students will also have a cupcake pan with cupcake liners and each
letter of the alphabet will be written inside the liner and students will have to match the letter on
the bean to the correct liner.
The Alphabet Parking Lot: Students will have toy cars and a piece of cardboard that has a letter of
the alphabet in a parking space. Each car will have a dot sticker with a letter on it. Students will then
have to park the car to the correct parking spot.
Roll and Dot the Letter: Students will be given a piece of paper with all the letters of the alphabet,
dot makers, and a cube with each letter of the alphabet. Students will then take turns to roll the dice
and whatever letter the dice lands on they will dot on their paper.

This would be where the students would have the time to ask any questions they may have about
the task. Each group will have about 45 minutes to go around each rotation. I will be walking around
the classroom and answer questions to clear up any misunderstandings. I will then finish by have a
class discussion and this will give students the opportunity to express any difficulty they came across
with during the rotations and what they liked about the rotations.
Managing student learning:
I will give the students a time to be able to go around each rotation at least once. I would say about an hour
however I know that the students may need some more time for the lesson because not all students work at
the same pace. Therefore, I would be more than happy to allow more time if the students need it. Students
will be working in groups of 3-4 which will give them the opportunity to increate their communication skills,
be engaged and be able to complete each rotation.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
The technology tool that the students are going to be using is Spotify for Podcasters where they will
create their very own podcast. This will allow the students to be creative
Reflection: After designing this lesson, I feel that it will allow students to be able to not only be
engaged but also be able to express their creativity which students love to do. Spotify for Podcasters
allows anyone who uses it to be able to create and distribute their very own audio file. Students will
have the chance to work together and effectively which will help them stay on task, The part of my
lesson I am excited and looking forward is going back and listening to each student’s very own
podcast. I think it is sweet to see how the kids themselves will also be excited that they get to record
themselves and share with their classmates what they came up with.
