THE POLITICAL SELF

How democracy and political views affected your values and traits as a Filipino?
According to Webster’s Encyclopedic Dictionary, democracy is
defined as a government in which supreme power is invented by the
people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through
presentation. We live in democratic country where sovereignty resides
in the people and all government authority emanated from them. We
intend to do fair and balance act in seeking government acts to be at
best interest through its system. A system that used for choosing and
replacing our government through fair and free environment, especially
when it comes to election things. We cannot deny and hide the truth
that every election in today’s generation was become unwanted. We are
not blind to see that are election become the what so call vote buying
in which the people who want to be voted has to have a money to buy
peoples vote. And it affects our values and traits as the fair
election become at chaos. We allow the government to control us and we
cannot hide that.

Reflection
I came from a family at which politics runs in us. I grew up
watching my family resides on the vote of our (kabarangayan). I
watched them trying to get and claim the vote of each of everyone in
our barangay. We intend to claim the respect and good image from the
people we wanted to get. My family tries to fix and make the families
reputation to be as good as people wanted to be.
