TEACHER PLAN

1) First have the students match the months. Check with the
person next to them. Then go through it as a group.

2) Birthday bingo: Students write down their birthday on the line

Then they go round and interview, writing down their friends
name and birthday.
After, say a month. They get point for each friend they wrote
down with a birthday in that month. Keep going till someone
finishes, or you want to move onto the final activity.

3) Calendar race: While the students are bingo interviewing, stick

up the calendar pages around the room. I usually put up 2
copies.
Get the students into groups (4-6ish)
Students get up one at a time to search for the answer.
I usually ham up a big demo
eg. Im in this group.
First question: Whose birthday is September 21st?
Make a big deal of remembering the question
Search the room for September
Go back to the group
guys guys, number one is “------------“
Mime writing the answer.
Have the students come up to the front to get the answers
checked at the end of each level.

Then sit back and watch them struggle. Give stickers to the
fastest group. Or not.
