message to the public. It has several advantages and disadvantages. The main
advantage of a PSA is that it educates people about important topics. It could be about
education, environment, current events, etc. It can also influence the opinion and
actions of the public. People are kept up to date because the topics are usually relevant.
Risks can be avoided, and action can be taken to address specific issues. However, not
all topics can be discussed because those that are contentious must be avoided.
Because commercial businesses typically consume the majority of advertisement
airtime, PSAs have a finite amount of airtime. This may have an impact on audience
comprehension because not everyone can quickly understand the delivered message. As
a result, the PSA's goal may not be met.
