• THE WORD OF GOD

The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. In this Word, God has committed to
man the knowledge necessary for salvation. The Holy Scriptures are the infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the test of experience, the authoritative revealer of doctrines, the trustworthy record of
God's acts in history.

2 Peter 1:20-21

[20]knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

[21]for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Jesus' death on the cross is the ultimate revelation of God's character.

• THE GODHEAD

There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He is infinite and beyond human comprehension, yet known through His
self-revelation. He is forever worthy of worship, adoration, and service by the whole creation.

•GOD THE SON

God the Eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the
character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged.
Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and
born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly
exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was
attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our
place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He
will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things.

Isaiah 53:4-6

[4]Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by
God, and afflicted.

[5]But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for
our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

[6]All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid
on Him the iniquity of us all.
Daniel 9:25-27

Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be
built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.

[26]“And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the
prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till
the end of the war desolations are determined.

[27]Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall
bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes
desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

place for you.

[3]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am,
there you may be also.

[9]Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has
seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

[13]And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

have become new.

[18]Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us
the ministry of reconciliation,

[19]that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to
them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Philippians 2:5-11

[5]Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

[6]who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

[7]but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of
men.

[8]And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of
death, even the death of the cross.

[9]Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

[10]that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of
those under the earth,

[11]and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 1:15-19

[15]He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

[16]For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for
Him.

[17]And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

[18]And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that
in all things He may have the preeminence.

[19]For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

to Glory

[10]For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons
to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
[11]For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is
not ashamed to call them brethren,

[12]saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to
You.”

[13]And again: “I will put My trust in Him.” And again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given
Me.”

[14]Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the
same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

[15]and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

[16]For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.

[17]Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful
High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
