STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT-COVENTRY UNIVERSITY

I am Janobhoyina Shalini, delighted to take this as an opportunity to submit my statement of

purpose, which includes my academic details and aspiration to pursue Masters in
UNIVERSITY OF COVENTRY, UK.

Introduction:
I have been an enthusiastic and energetic person since my childhood made me face many
challenges during my academics in both primary and higher education. Reminiscing my first
rendezvous with electronic and electrical subjects during my school days spurred my interest
in Electronics field and propelled my fascination beyond the shores of the Classroom: from
the time I started learning the basics of computer architecture, signals and systems, power
systems and along with few coding languages like C, C++ and Java, with the combinations of
software and hardware of the computer detailing put an interest on me that I choose to go
thoroughly into it. Later on in my 6 th semester, we have brief information about the projects
in coming years i,e… minor & major projects that we are going to choose, through that we
learnt some basics about principles of Project management, project funding, project risk
management and even project leadership management helps us to support my thesis on final
years.
Education and work experience
Some insights into my academic background and work experience. I have achieved 72% in
my Secondary School Certificate (SSC) which is a start up to my career. With my interest in
Science and Mathematics I have chosen MPC course of subjects and achieved 62% in
Intermediate which added up to my career. I realized that Technology course could be the
suitable one and has the potential to change many lives; which showed a bright path towards
my graduation in Electrical and electronics Engineering from Nalla Narasimha Reddy
Education Society’s Group of Institutions (affiliated by JNTU) and acquired 68% of
aggregate in the year 2013.
During my college placement Genpact India Pvt. Ltd. has given me the opportunity to start
my professional career as Process Associate in technical field. Over two-year extensive
experience as a Subject Matter Expert. During this work period I have experienced with
different roles and responsibilities which helped me in getting promoted as a Process
Developer.
To put my learning to the best use, I joined Cognizant organization as a Quality Analyst. The
roles and responsibilities were to analyze and worked on audits on regular basis alongside
conducted training sessions basis requirement and draft quality assurance policies and
procedures, interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures and evaluate
adequacy of quality assurance standards, devise sampling procedures and directions for
recording and reporting quality data.
To hone my skills further, I have applied for Wipro organization as Team Leader. The
project client was Meta - Worked with maximum 30 associates and ensured that all key
metrics of performance as per the client SLA are met and exceeded and provide feedback on
employee and team performance to the manager and manage team workload distribution and
structure to ensure consistent good performance and consistently and effectively implement
the performance management process as a leadership tool to help employees maximize their
performance and performs other duties as assigned by manager and prepare and present
analyzed data with client in Weekly Business Reviews and provided help to management
including participation in recruitment and interviewed more than 50 candidates for various
roles.
I want to pursue master’s abroad was my long-term dream and goal and to enhance my future
and career. I wish to carry my education forward and for this reason I would like to further
continue my education in the stream of MSc in International Project Management with
Advanced Practice at the Coventry University.

develop their potential. Studying in the UK will help me to develop excellent language skills.
The English Language is of crucial importance in today’s global business arena. Also the
Primary focus is laid on research and practically oriented learning rather than theoretical
learning. This Approach would help me gain excellent logical and critical thinking skills that
would help me stand out from others in this highly competitive world. Also, the learning
environment is organized and composed as UK has a very peaceful and stable atmosphere,
and this would be a perfect destination for me to be on par with my study interests. The
system here would not only help me shape my inherent skills but also would help me learn
new skills and gain useful knowledge from my enrolled course due to advanced research
opportunities and several facilities in and around. Having a UK degree would open up better
opportunities for me as the degree is valued anywhere in the world and also back in India.
UK is also one of the beautiful and safest places to live in, and hence this is another factor
that has made me opt UK apart from other countries.

during my thesis time such as computer architecture, signals and systems, Power systems,
Digital Era, Simulation, Quality and change control will help me in Fortifying my basics to
enhance and train my hidden instincts. The thought provoking extensive curriculum and the
rigorous methods that the university offers in the course will equip me with the right skills
and knowledge and enhance my personality, forming a strong foundation for my future goals.
Why International Project Management course?
I am very interested in it during studies, later on I choose to work for a while. I have been
working as a team leader in Wipro with topmost Client-Meta with for 2 years, I am very
excited to learn high level project management skills to make a difference to the performance
of global business. MSc in Project Management Program involves Operations Management
and Service Excellence, Financial Decision Making, Leading Business Organizations
Knowledge Management and Studying in the MSc Project Management course will be a
great opportunity for my learning business tools and gain all-around expertise in the business
management area. I can build my interpersonal skill so as I can be able to interact effectively
with a range of specialists and to implement agreed solutions effectively and efficiently.
Conclusion:
At last, I assure you that I will put forth my complete effort towards my program to achieve
my ambition. I am honored to apply MSc in International Project Management with
Advanced Practice. Coventry University as I believe this program will help me to obtain such
knowledge and degree that is necessary for my future endeavors and noble phases of career
that unfold with time ahead.
