The Ashley Loafers

Crochet Pattern by Kristi Simpson
Size 0-6 months
2012

What you need:

Size C-2.75 Crochet Hook
I love this Cotton! : 2 colors
Yarn needle
4 Small buttons; sewing thread/needle

Gauge:
1inches =4 stitches and 4 rows.

How to check gauge swatch:

Get a tape measure and crochet a chain a lil over 4 inches.
Sc in the first ch from hook and across.
At the end of the row ch 1 and sc back across.
Do this until your swatch is right at 4 inches long.
Count how many stitches you have across.
Count how many rows you have up and down.
That is how you determine your gauge.

Please check gauge. I have a loose stitch gauge, so if your stitch is tight,
you will need to make sure you check!
If your gauge is SMALLER, use a larger hook; if it is LARGER, us a smaller hook.

R3) ch1, sc12, hdc dec, sc7, hdc dec, sc11, sl st to join (32)

R4) ch1, sc12, ch3, sl st, ch3, and in the back loops of the next 9 stitches do
the following:
Yo, push through the loop, yarn over and pull up loop on hook. Yarn over
and pull through first 2 loops. Keep the remaining loops on hook. When you
finish the 9th stitch, you will have 10 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull
through all 10 loops. Sl st, ch3, sl st to the 9th stitch (the last stitch that you
did the ½ dc in ) and then sc10 to end. Sl st to join. Weave in ends. (29)

Sew a button on each side, one stich away

from the cluster top.

For the strap: ch15, sc in the 4th stitch from

the hook, sc7, sl st to the first ch. This will
create a ‘button hole’ on each side of the
strap. Weave in ends. Slip over each
button.
