Facing this threat of a war on two fronts: first, his armies will advance
through neutral Belgium to encircle and destroy the French armies near Paris
and win a quick victory. His forces can then move east to engage Russia,
where the massive army will take much longer. And so, Germany declares
war on France.

were also many negatives because the soldiers found themselves in
unhygienic conditions and were exposed to many diseases due to humidity
and low temperatures.

It was fought between the Germans and the Russians.
It lasted 4 days from August 26, 1914, to August 30, 1934, was fought
in East Prussia near the city of Olsztyn. Germany was the winner since
they had superior tactics and training, of the first major battle of the
first world war. The leaders of the Russian Army were Alexander
Samsonov, he killed himself after loss the battle and Paul von
Rennenkampf. The leaders of the German Army were Paul von
Hindenburg, Erich Ludendorff, and Max Hoffman. Russia had two
armies, the soldiers in the second one was mostly prisoners, killed or
wounded, the Russians used unencrypted radio transmissions to
communicate but the Germans were able to encrypt them and knew
everything they were planning.
