Project Summary

Background
Project Neuropedagogy responds to the priority Promoting and rewarding excellence in teaching and skills
development; in particular: Encouraging the training of academics and the exchange of good practice (for
example through collaborative platforms) in new and innovative pedagogical approaches, including
multidisciplinary approaches to curriculum design, delivery and assessment methods. A horizontal priority is
Innovative practices in the digital age.
In relation to its higher education development policy, the European Commission identifies four key objectives for
European cooperation in higher education, which were also pursued through this project:
- tackling future skills mismatches and promoting excellence in skills development.
- building inclusive and connected higher education systems.
- ensuring the contribution of higher education institutions to innovation.
- supporting effective and efficient higher education systems.
Thematic areas of the project are: new innovative curricula/educational methods/development of training course,
Open and distance learning, Pedagogy and didactics.
In summary, the aim of the collaboration was to develop accessible and reliable material on the neurological
basis of learning in an attempt to modernise the teaching strategies currently used in education.

Objectives
General objective of the Project:
Provide the teacher with neuroscientific knowledge adapted to his reality so that he is capable to transmit
knowledge as required by the modern world.
Specific objectives:
- conduction studies in all participating countries on Neuroscience applied to higher education and assemble
them into a comprehensive study to identify training needs and directions for subsequent action.
- exchange best practices in order to prepare itineraries adequate training skills development required by higher
education lecturers in their teaching function.
- development of an innovative training methodology, in order to train the target group of the project to increase
the necessary didactic skills by Neuroscience.
- organisation of pilot training course where participants learnt to adapt and acquire teaching skills according to
the neuroscientific method.
- design of an online platform that hosts the course "Didactic method based on Neuroscience" and a community
of higher education lecturers.

Implementation
List of activities implemented under the Project:
- survey study in field of neuroscience addresed to academics of partnership countries
- analysis of training needs
- development of good practice guide
Above-mentioned activities helped to deepen current knowledge on the multidisciplianry branch which is
neuropedagogy
- elaboration of training methodology
- elaboration of modules for the needs of e-learning platform

- pilot training of the platform

Final result which is online space for collaboration between specialists or/and people interested in the issue of
neuroscience was disseminated through project website, social media (Twitter and Facebook) and thanks to
organisation of several multpilier events in the project countries.
Except merit-related activities partnership realised many administrative tasks like:
- dissemination activities done by each institution
- online monthly meetings
- constant digital communication
- evaluation activities
- mobilities done under the project: LTTA as well as final project meeting
- financial control and reporting

Achievements
The TANGIBLE results of the project are the following:
- Five studies on Neuroscience applied to higher education.
- One study to identify training needs.
- One Good practice guide.
- One innovative training methodology, to train the target group of the project in order to increase the necessary
didactic skills by Neuroscience.
- pilot training course in each country (according to application expected only in Greece, but was done in each
country).
- Online platform with the course "Didactic method based on Neuroscience" with the community-based approach
(possibility of exchange of good practices between learners).
- Creation of the project website with updated actions, achievements and partners information.
- Four transnational meetings: some of them organise online due to pandemic
- Five multiplier events (one in each country).

For the NON TANGIBLE results, these are as follows:

- Development of neuroscience-based teaching competences for higher education.
- Development of an European higher education system including neuroscience in the classroom.
- Promote a more comprehensive and content-rich education based on neuroscience.
- Recognition and enhancement of teachers and trainers involved in the project as drivers of a novel educational
system.
- Promoting unity and communication within the teachers and trainers of the higher education system in Europe to
enable it to lead as an educational model
