A. Preparatory Activities
a. Prayer
Kindly stand, I would like to ask Watche
Mae to lead the prayer In the name of the Father, the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, Lord, bless this
class with wisdom, understanding, and
unity. Guide our learning journey and
help us grow in knowledge and
kindness.
b. Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning ma’am Shiela, good
morning classmates, it’s nice to see
you.
Are we good?
(raised two thumbs up) Yes ma’am!
(raised two thumbs up)
Okay please settle down.

c. Motivation

Class, I have here two objects and I will

give you 1 minute to observe the objects
and after that tell your observation from
the class.
Am I clear? Crystal clear.
(After 1 minute)

Time is up! Who wants to volunteer to

share your observations? Me ma’am. My observation about is it
is a thermometer but has a different
temperature, the one shows higher
temperature and the other one shows a
lower temperature.

Very good Menchie! That’s right. Let’s

give her 3 claps. Clap, clap, clap

Alright, what is temperature by the way?

Temperature is a measure of heat or
coldness, typically in degrees
That is correct! Very good Uella. Fahrenheit or Celsius.

So, class think about the weather outside,

is it the same today, yesterday or last
week?
No, ma’am.
Why do you think it is not the same?

B. Presentation Because
If that’s the case, bare with me this
morning as we are going to discuss about
ENERGY: WARMING AND COOLING
EARTH AND ATMOSPHERE.
Everybody read.
ENERGY: WARMING AND
COOLING EARTH AND
But before we proceed to our discussion ATMOSPHERE
let us first read the objectives. Everybody
read.

At the end of the lesson, the students

will be able to:
a. describe how the Earth and
atmosphere warm and cool;
b. display how the heat energy is
being absorbed and released;
C. Discussion c. share their experience of sudden
Today, we will learn about warming and change of temperature.
cooling of the earth and atmosphere.

Are you ready?

Alright class, attention please. Who among

you here have an idea about heat? Yes ma’am.
Yes Adamn?

Correct! Let’s give Adamn a barangay

clap.

So, heat is energy in the process of being

transferred from one object to another
because of the temperature different Clap, clap, clap
between them.

And where do you think heat energy come

from?

Yes, from the sunlight of course.

Look and observe the picture in the From the sunlight ma’am.
infinity cube.

Class, what are the processes have you

seen in the picture?

What else?

That is correct! Let us give them a 5 claps Condesation and deposition ma'am.
without the third clap
Evaporation and sublimation ma'am.
So what is condensation?

Very good! Clap, clap ... Clap, clap

Condensation is the process where a

gas turns into a liquid ma'am.
The heat energy that is released during
this process is typically carried away by
the surrounding air or other nearby
objects, warming them in the process.
This is why you might feel warmth when
condensation occurs, such as when water
vapor in the air condenses on a cold
surface like a window pane.

So, what do you think will happen to the

heat energy when condensation
happened, is it released or absorbed?
That is right heat is released.

What is evaporation?

Yes that is correct! Thank you so much.

Heat is released ma'am.

Evaporation is the conversion of

liquid water into water vapor.

Evaporation happens through the input of

heat energy from the sorroundings.

So, what do you think will happen to the

heat energy when evaporation happened,
is it released or absorbed?
During evaporation, heat energy is
absorbed from the surroundings. This
energy is typically taken from the
surrounding environment, causing a
cooling effect. So, evaporation is an
endothermic process, meaning it absorbs
heat energy from its surroundings.

Let us go back to our first picture.

Heat is absorbed ma'am.

The process of melting, evaporation and
sublimation all cool the environment. The
process of freezing, condensation and
deposition all warm their sorroundings.

If the Earth releases heat energy to the

atmosphere it cools the air, when it
absorbs it warms.

D. Generalization

Based on your understanding, what do

you call to the process that can cool the
air and absorbs heat energy from the
sorroundings?

That is correct!

How about the warming process that can

warm the air and releases heat energy?

So now, why do temperature change?

Very good! Looks like you really Evaporation the transformation of

Values Integration:

Okay class, what have you experienced or

observed to our air temperature?

That is right! Who else? Condensation the transformation of

vapor into liquid ma'am.
Yes, Charry you have another answer?
Because of evaporation and

our atmosphere is so hot to avoid
dehydration and also umbrella because
we can't predict the weather.

I will group you into two, each group will

be provided the materials needed. The
right side will be the group 1 and the left
aide will be the group 2. Okay ma'am.

Instructions: Draw a diagram of the

absorption and releasing of heat energy
and write a short description below the
diagram and you have 2 minutes to finish
the task. The perfect score will be 15
points.

Kindly read the rubrics first.

Thank you for ready the rubric. I'll give 2

minutes to illustrate. Am I clear?

Okay, your timer starts now!

Time's up! Paste your work on the board
and present it. Group 1 will be the first Content

Yes ma'am.
Thank you group 1, let's give a 5 claps.

Let's check your work, I'll give you 5 Hello everyone, this is the work of
