Memo is a short message to someone within an organization or outside the

organization. The contents of the Memo directly state the sender's intentions without

any other parts of the letter, such as opening greetings and closing greetings. Memo is

for internal communications only and cannot be used to convey messages to other

people in other companies. It can also be used to send information to many people in

the same company.

Example:

From: Kiara (kiara.athena@gmail.com)

To: Alyssa (alyssaa20@gmail.com)

Subject: College life

Dear Alyssa,

It had been 3 months since we graduated from Senior High School. How is your life

there? I hope you’re always well.

Alyssa, my collage life is very fun. How about you? I have a lot of friends and good

lecturers. I also do my assignments on time. I really miss you.

Hope you are well and keep on healthy. Please let me know when you’re off, so we

can plan a short trip together.

Thanks for your time, hopefully someday we can meet and play together during the

holidays.

While email is a digital message that is used informal. Email is longer than a memo

and has an opening, body and closing sections. Can be used for internal and external

company communications. Email is interpersonal communication addressed to certain

parties or clients.

MEMORANDUM

To: All employees

From: General Manager

Date: October, 17th, 2023

Subject: Regular Meeting

We wild hold regular meeting on October, 17th, 2023. It is not similar to previous

agenda since there is urgent matter to discuss with all of the team.

That is why please allocate the time, and prepare all the necessary materials as what

we usually do in regular meeting. In the end of the session, there will be additional

information that I will share.

Overall, memos and emails are both effective tools for communication, but they have

different features that make them suitable for different purposes. Memos are best used

for formal communication within an organization, while emails are better suited for

casual communication with people outside of an organization.
