First, I want to say thank you to Allah, who give me a time to speech in this special moment. Also
to Prophet Muhammad, his families, and his friends.

The Indonesian Declaration of Independence was officially proclaimed at 10.00 a.m. sharp on
Friday, August 17, 1945. The declaration marked the start of the five year diplomatic and
armed-resistance of the Indonesian National Revolution, fighting against the forces of the
Netherlands until the latter officially acknowledged Indonesia's independence in 1949. In 2005,
the Netherlands declared that they recognized Indonesian independence is in 1945, not 1949.

Every year on 17th August, Indonesia’s celebrate the Independence Day. It’s very fun. There are
a lot of contest, like Panjat Pinang. And in Istana Merdeka, they are having ceremony. May be,
some of you go to have celebrate. You must be spirit in the Independence Day, you look our
hero, and they are held the pass to gain freedom. And us, we’re as the student, we have to have
spirit to celebrate the Independence Day. If you confess you’re Indonesia’s people, you must
care about Indonesia, the Independence Day of Indonesia, and all of Indonesia you must like,
because it’s your country.

Dear Moslem brothers!
When we talk about youngsters, we often find in many articles and we ourselves even witness
the great role of youth participation in developing, favoring, and supporting the development of
nation. They are the hope of nation who will carry out the struggle for the sake of brighter
future of the country. Similarly, they are at the same time, the hope of Islamic religion will strive
for the sake of Islamic teaching in the next, maintain the Islamic law, who will safeguard the
Moslem young generation at large from influence of destructive western style of life, who will be
leaders for the next. It was yelled as: TODAY IS YOUNG TOMORROW WILL BE A LEADER.

This statement encourages us to pay attention to the young existence in the future. By knowing
all the facts we realize, how important role the young have for the future. The youths
supposedly symbolize the force never become weak quickly. For this reason, the former
president of Indonesia Soekarno has once said: “GIVE ME TEN YOUTHS WOULD SHAKE THE
WORLD”. From this statement we can sum up that Soekarno appreciated the young people more
than the old. Why? Because they play significant roles, have great potency and great energy that
can be prided.

Dear Moslem brothers!

Therefore our religion enjoins us to be flexible Moslem leaders for society who ultimately have
to devote them selves for the development of Moslems community at large. Ironically, in this
sophisticated era we witness the conducts of young people are always against the Islamic laws.
We pay attention to many young people who are not a ware of their education and will be
sadder if we see our Moslem brothers in our country behave badly and intentionally avoiding
Islamic teachings to follow western culture. We can not imagine and describe what is going to
happen in the next time if all the young people are careless in this responsibility. We have to be
aware that the responsibility of nation developing and religion establishing depend on us. By
those considerations we should be very cautious with any destructive western culture that
would enter Islamic teaching.

My brothers! Las but not the last, I should like to cal you to prepare our generation in order to
be able to replace the old in the future. And I hope you and all Moslem brothers wherever they
are to abstain from bad action and furthermore we have to develop our skill and potency to
reach the bright future.

Sebelum saya mulai menyampaikan pidato, saya mengharapkan kepada seluruh hadirin (para
pirsawan) untuk bersyukur kepada Allah, Tuhan kita, karena Dia telah memberikan kepada kita
rahmat yang meimpah-limpah, sehingga, oleh karena rahmat itulah kita dapat berkumpul dalam
pertemuan yang penuh damai ini.

Selanjutnya, secara khusus, shalawat dan salam kita sampaikan kepada Nabi kita Muhammad
SAW, rasul dan hambanya.

Dan saya ucapkan terima kasih kepada pembawa acara yang telah memberikan waktu kepada
saya yntuk berbicara pada hari ini dengan judul:

Saudara-saudara kaum muslimin yang terhormat!

Apabila kita berbicara tentang kaum muda, kita sering dapati dalam banyak artikel (tulisan) dan
kita sendiri bahkan menyaksikan peran partisipasi pemuda yang besar dalam membangun,
menymbang, dan mendukung perkembangan bangsa. Mereka adalah harapan bangsa yang akan
berjuang demi masa depan Negara yang lebih cerah. Demikian juga, mereka dalam waktu yang
sama merupakan harapan Islam, yang akan berjuang demi ajaran Islam di hari esok, yang akan
mempertahankan undang-undang Islam, yang akan melindungi generasi muda Islam secara luas
dari pengaruh gaya hidup barat yang merusak, yag akan menjadi seorang pemimpin pada masa
selanjutnya, hal ini diteriakkan seperti: SEKARANG PEMUDA, BESOK AKAN MENJADI
PEMIMPIN.

Pernyataan ini mendorong kita untuk memperhatikan eksistensi pemuda di masa datang.
Pemuda dianggap melambangkan semangat yang baik tidak pernah redup………… pemuda
dianggap melambangkan keberanian yang tidak pernah luntur ………. Pemuda dianggap
melambangkan kekuatan yang tidak mudah hancur. Karena alas an ini presiden pertama
Soekarno, suatu ketika pernah berkata: BERIKAN KEPADAKU SEPULUH PEMUDA, AKAN KU
GONCANGKAN DUNIA. Dari pernyataan ini kita dapat menyimpulkan bahwa Soekarno lebih
menghargai pemuda ketimbang orang tua. Mengapa? Karena mereka memainkan peranan yang
jitu dan mempunyai energi besar yang dapat dibanggakan.

Generasi muslim sekalian yang terhormat !

Karena itulah, agama kita menganjurkan agar kita menjadi seorang pemimpin Islam yang
fleksibel bagi masyarakat yang pada akhirnya harus mempersembahkan sumbangan bagi
perkembangan masyarakat Islam secara luas. Ironisnya, di era yang canggih ini kita
menyaksikan perbuatan kaum muda selalu bertentangan dengan hukum-hukum Islam. Kita
memperhatikan banyak kaum muda tikad sadar akan pendidikan dan lebih sedih lagi jika kita
perhatikan saudara-saudara kita kaum muslimin di Negara kita berprilaku buruk dan mereka
dengan sengaja menghindari ajaran Islam dan mengikuti kebudayaan Barat. Kita tidak dapat
membanyangkan dan menggambarkan apa yang bakal terjadi di masa datang jika semua kaum
muda tidak memperhatikan tanggung jawab ini. Kita harus sadar bahwa tanggung jawab
membangun bangsa dan menegakkan agama bergantung pada kita. Dengan beberapa
pertimbangan itu harus kita begitu hati-hati terhadap kebudayaan Barat yang merusak yang
akan mewarnai ajaran Islam.

Saudara-saudara sekalian !
Terakhir namun tak kurang pentingnya, saya ingin mengajak saudara untuk menyiapkan
generasi muda kita agar mampu mengganti generasi tua di masa depan. Dan saya mengharap
kepada anda dan seluruh saudara-saudara kaum muslimin di mana pun mereka berada agar
menjaukan diri dari perbuatan yang jelek dan selanjutnya kita harus mengembangkan skill dan
potensi kita untuk menggapai masa depan yang cerah.

The topic of my speech is "How to Face Globalization Era".

As we all know, nowadays our world is in globalization era. We often hear it.
Globalization is the process of transformation of local or regional phenomena into
global or international phenomena. This process is a combination of economic, technological,
sociocultural and political forces. In other words, every country in this world can influence
other countries.

Because of globalization, this world which consists of many countries is like "a global village".
This term refers to the fact that people are considered to live in this planet without borders,
without limitation. People are able to access any kinds of information easily. There is no
difficulty to communicate, there is no barrier to interact with other people from all over the
world.
Brothers and sisters...

Globalization has various aspects which affect the world, such as: in industry,
finance, economy, politics, technology, and socio-culture. If our country wants to
survive in this globalization era, we must be smart people. We should take all of the positive
effects of globalization and we should not take the negative effects. For
example: we need to adopt and learn high technology from developed country in
order to develop our country. On the contrary, we must not imitate bad attitudes or
behaviors from other countries like free sex and drugs abuse.

Brothers and sisters...

It is a fact that there are many challenges in globalization era. It cannot be denied that
globalization is related with competition and the ability to survive. The question is: what should
we do in order to face the globalization era?
The first one is, build up and strengthen good characters based on the religion. If we are
Moslem, the guide of our lives is Islam. Second, we must master technology in
order to develop our country. The last, always be ready to face any kinds of change
and competition by preparing and upgrading our skills.

GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing us today. To protect the health and
economic well-being of current and future generations, we must reduce our emissions of heat-
trapping gases by using the technology, know-how, and practical solutions already at our
disposal.

Tropical deforestation is the largest source of emissions for many developing countries, but
slowing deforestation can't solve the climate problem by itself. As forest-rich developing
countries step up to take responsibility for reducing their emissions, all industrialized nations
should not only support their efforts but, most importantly, reduce their own emissions and
lead efforts to avert dangerous climate change.

For years we have heard so much about the causes of climate change, that we’ve missed the fact
that there are simple, practical solutions that can slow this growing problem. Technologies exist
today that can cut emissions of heat-trapping gases and make a real difference in the health of
our planet. And these solutions will be good for our economy, reduce our dependence on foreign
oil, and enhance our energy security.

Global warming doesn’t just mean balmy February days in northern climes. It also means
increasingly hot days in the summer, and a host of negative impacts that are already under way
and are expected to intensify in the
coming decades.

-More heat waves will likely increase the risk of heat-related illnesses and deaths.

-Cities and towns along the nation's major rivers will experience more severe and frequent
flooding.

-Some areas will likely experience more extensive and prolonged droughts.

-Some of our favorite coastal and low-lying vacation areas, such as parts of the Florida Keys and
Cape Cod, will be much less appealing as sea levels rise, dunes erode, and the areas become
more vulnerable to coastal storms.

-Many families and businesses that have made their living from fishing, farming, and tourism
could lose their livelihoods, and others who love hunting, boating, skiing, bird watching, and just
relaxing near lakes, streams, and wetlands will see some of their favorite places irretrievably
changed.

The solutions to climate change are here and it's time we put them to use. If we get started
today we can tackle this problem and decrease the unpleasant outcomes that await us if we do
nothing. The steps we need to take are common sense. And, more often than not, they will save
consumers money. The cost of inaction, however, is unacceptably high.

The scientific consensus is in. Our planet is warming, and we are helping make it happen by
adding more heat-trapping gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), to the atmosphere. The
burning of fossil fuel (oil, coal, and natural gas) alone accounts for about 75 percent of annual
CO2 emissions from human activities. Deforestation—the cutting and burning of forests that
trap and store carbon—accounts for about another 20 percent.

Procrastination is not an option. Scientists agree that if we wait 10, 20, or 50 years, the problem
will be much more difficult to address and the consequences for us will be that much more
serious.

We're treating our atmosphere like we once did our rivers. We used to dump waste
thoughtlessly into our waterways, believing that they were infinite in their capacity to hold
rubbish. But when entire fisheries were poisoned and rivers began to catch fire, we realized
what a horrible mistake that was.

Our atmosphere has limits too. CO2 remains in the atmosphere for about 100 years. The longer
we keep polluting, the longer it will take to recover and the more irreversible damage will be
done.

Fuel-efficient vehicles. Renewable energy. Protecting threatened forests. These common sense
solutions won't only reduce global warming, many will save us money and create new business
opportunities.

Best of all, these solutions exist now. We just need to insist that business and government take
the necessary steps to make them available and affordable. Then we have to let consumers
know what to do and provide incentives to help all of us make better choices.
