LASER PAINT REMOVAL

Sample preparing

Only one sample will be available for each group Carbon Steel FE360 83 x 83 x 3 mm

The sample must be prepared:

• at least three levels of finishing
• alcohol cleaning
• Surface painting. Each group will be able to choose their favorite colour
(from those available)

Accourtment:
Only one person of each group will paint the sample. Gloves and mask are necessary (given).

DESIGN OF EXPERIMENT
Parameters
5 mm x 5 mm
Fixed parameters
Jog speed [mm/min] 3000
Focus position [mm] 0
Emission wavelength [nm] 445
Geometrical path Vertical lines 83 mm

Number of passes 1
Variable parameters
Work speed [mm/min] [400,1600]
Power [W] [2.5,10]
Hatch distance [mm] [0.05,0.4]* *only 0.05 step 83 mm

Ø Maximum 100 «squares» Examples:

Ø At least one repeatability test 1. 4 work speed values, 4 power values, 3 hatch values -> 4*4*3 = 48 tests -> 48*2 = 96 total tests (1 repeatability test)
Ø Random experiments 2. 5 work speed values, 3 power values, 2 hatch values -> 5*3*2 = 30 tests -> 30*3 = 90 total tests (2 repeatability tests)
