PRIVILEGE
FOUNDATION
O U T L I N E
Share the Privilege (STP) Foundation is a student-led non-profit organisation aimed
at alleviating hunger, reducing food waste, and creating innovative solutions to
systematic and immediate problems that plague the lives of underprivileged people
in Bangladesh. We are focused on engaging both students and community members
to make a sustainable and positive impact.
The idea for Share The Privilege began when our co-founders, Ruhan and Sujoy,
discussed the challenges that underprivileged people face on a daily basis. a
lingering question that made them think, "We're all too busy solving large-scale
problems like climate change, poverty, we've come up with all kinds of complex
technologies like artificial intelligence and self-driving cars, but we never look for
small-scale solutions that could exponentially improve the lives of the poor." Instead
of just complaining about the problems, they decided to tackle them head on and
set up an organisation that empowers young people to make positive change in the
lives of the underprivileged in Bangladesh. Our vision is to use innovative, effective,
and sustainable methods to make a difference.
As of now, STP Foundation has been working towards improving the lives of
underprivileged people in Bangladesh through the efforts of our team members who
come from prestigious institutes across Bangladesh, Canada, and The United States.
Some of our previous projects are:
With 75 volunteers, including 6 core members with a wide array of skills, from
diplomats with outstanding leadership and management skills to creative minds,
from prominent institutions across Bangladesh and abroad, we, at the Share the
Privilege Foundation, plan to make more sustainable efforts to improve today's
society.
With bigger problems leering on society, we decided to take initiative with the
smaller ones in order to take incremental steps in pursuit of our eventual goal. Our
future initiatives will be centred around directly addressing the needs of
underprivileged people in Bangladesh, as we are determined to help and make a
lasting, sustainable, positive impact on their lives.
