Batangas is one of the most
popular tourist destinations near
Metro Manila. It is home to the well- contributions that we can do to
known Taal Volcano, one of the
decade volcanoes, and the small
nearby town of Taal, which keeps
ancestral houses, churches, and other
architecture dating back to the 19th
century. The province also has
numerous beaches and diving spots,
including Anilao in Mabini, which is
known as the “Birthplace of Scuba
Diving in the Philippines”, Sombrero
Island in Tingloy, Ligpo Island and
Sampaguita Beach in Bauan,
Matabungkay in Lian, Punta Fuego in
Nasugbu, Calatagan, and Laiya in San
Juan. All of the marine waters of the
province are part of the Verde Island
Passage, the center of the world's
marine biodiversity.
Features of the Province
The following are the valuable
maintain/protect the physical features of
the province:
1. Plant more trees and take good
care of our forest to avoid floods
and landslides.
2. Turning off the water whenever it is
not in use reduces the amount of
runoff and wastewater that
eventually end up in the ocean.
3. Maintain the cleanliness of bodies
of water by not throwing trash and
chemicals on them.
4. Observe proper waste disposal and
practice using reuse, reduce, and
recycle.

Direction and Location on the Map People or Population Size

Batangas is a province of the
Philippines located in the southwestern
part of Luzon in the CALABARZON
region. It is surrounded by the
provinces of Cavite and Laguna to the
north and Quezon to the east. Crossing
the Verde Island Passages to the
south, Mindoro is located, and the
south China Sea to the west.
Its population as determined by the
2020 Census was 2,908,494. This
represented 17.96% of the total
population of the CALABARZON
region, 4.68% of the overall population
of the Luzon Island group, or 2.67% of
the entire population of the Philippines.
