Lucas is a pioneering female artist and the rst time I encountered her work, I saw a myriad of gender
symbolic organs, genitals and breasts all over the large room. But there was no hint of eroticism. Women are
not about accusation, about confrontation, but about knowing what the self is.

*Sarah Lucas (born 1962) is an English artist. She is part of the generation of Young British Artists who emerged during the 1990s. Her
works frequently employ visual puns and bawdy humour by incorporating photography, collage and found objects.

Alec Soth's work seems to me to be the result of an extremely assured con dence on the part of the artist
himself. There is no aunting of technique, no showing o of glitz and glamour in the photographs, just a
precise capture of the most immediate moment of inspiration in a quiet life, a second of inspiration that is
large enough to feel alive.

Xiang Jing's sculptures are mostly of the female body, her works are a kind of mirror interpretation, allowing
the viewer to instantly associate with and look back at themselves, each viewer can see in her sculptures an
incarnation of themselves at some point. Her works have a calm and naked power, they construct the deepest
emotions or some kind of deep re ection through a very simple expression.

*Xiang Jing (Chinese: 向京; born 1968 in Beijing) is a Chinese sculptor. Most of her sculptures are based on women and focus on
emphasizing their imperfections. Xiang Jing seeks to convey the humility or emptiness of the everyday woman on the surface.
