SEPERATION OF SUBSTANCE
HANDPICKING
Handpicking is used for separating slightly larder impurities like dirt, husk and stone from grains, rice
and wheat.

THRESHING
Threshing is the process used to separate grains from stalks. In this process the stalks is beaten
continuously to free the grains. Machines are also used to thresh large thing.

WINNOWING
Winnowing is used to separate heavier and lighter components of a mixture by wind or blowing
wind. This is mainly used by farmers to separate seeds from husks.

SIEVING
Sieving is used when two components of a mixture have different particle pass through will remain
on the sieve.

DECANTATION
The transfer of clean liquid from one vessel to another vessel without disturbing the sediment
particle.

FILTRATION
Filtration is used to separate solid particle from a liquid by passing the mixture through a device
usually filter paper, strainer and cotton cloth are used.

LOADING
It is the process of faster sedimentation by suspending alum to the solution

EVAPURATION
The process of conversion of water into water vapor is called evaporation.
CONDENSATION
The process of conversion of water vapor into its liquid form is called condensation

SUBLIMENTATION
The process of conversion of solid into gaseous state without passing through the liquid state.

CRYSTALLISATION
The process of obtaining pure crystalline substance from their solution is called crystalline
substance.
