Vision of the University


CTU as a premier, inclusive, globally-recognized research and innovation,
smart, community-responsive, and sustainable technological university.
Mission of the University
The University is primarily providing leading-edge degree programs, innovative
professional, entrepreneurial, and technical instruction as well as research,
extension and resource generation programs that address both the needs of the
region and the nation in the context of the global knowledge economy, Fifth
Industrial Revolution, and sustainability.

Goals of the University


By the end of 2024, CTU will be globally recognized for its quality. Specifically, it
will:
o Obtain a Philippine university system status with a CHED SUC Level V
recognition or equivalent;
o Be ranked among the Top 10 Universities in the Philippines;
o Achieve world-class performance and excellence using leading quality
management systems for quality assurance and control;
o Be an internationally recognized and ranked university (including
Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education, Shanghai University
Ranking, World University Impact Rankings);
o Develop innovative academic initiatives, including medical and allied fields,
engineering and technology, and transnational higher education programs
for enhanced career pathways, qualifications, recognitions, accreditations,
specialization and progression programs, and global mobility; and
o Lead innovations in the Fifth Industrial Revolution.

University Outcomes

1. Transformed visionary leadership in innovation to accelerate regional and


national development in the context of the modern industrial revolution;
2. Increased access by economically challenged but deserving student to
relevant, quality, and world-class tertiary education with learning integration
of practical experiences to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth;

strengthens higher education research, leading to economic productivity

initiatives leading to heightened regional and global role in the modern
industrial revolution and human and intellectual capital for sustained
economic development.

Course Description:

The course deals with interactions between science and technology and
social, cultural, political, and economic contexts that shape and are shaped by them.

This interdisciplinary course engages students to confront the realities


brought about by science and technology in society. Such realities pervade the
personal, the public, and the global aspects of our living and are integral to human
development. Scientific knowledge and technological development happen in the
context of society with all its socio-political, cultural, economic, and philosophical
underpinnings at play. This course seeks to instill reflective knowledge in the

students that they are able to live the good life and display ethical decision making
in the face of scientific and technological advancement.
This course includes mandatory topics on climate change and environmental
awareness.

IV. Practice CTU Vision Challenge

1. Express CTU's vision, mission, and goals creatively in a short presentation.

a) Prepare a short presentation (2-3 minutes) expressing your understanding


of CTU's vision, mission, and goals.

b) Be creative in the presentations (visuals, storytelling, or personal


anecdotes).

c) Deliver your presentations to the class.

V. Performance

Personal Roadmap

A personal roadmap is a strategic plan outlining an individual's long-term goals,


aspirations, and the steps needed to achieve them. It serves as a guide for personal
growth, including specific objectives, action plans, and timelines to track progress. It
encompasses academics, career, personal development, relationships, and
community involvement. The roadmap acts as a blueprint, aligning actions with the
vision for the future and guiding individuals towards their desired destination.

Instruction:

1. Carefully read and internalize the vision, mission, and goals of the university
(CTU) to grasp its core values and aspirations. Identify key elements of the

2. Reflect on your long-term goals and aspirations, both academically and


professionally. Determine how your individual aspirations can complement and
support the vision, mission, and goals of CTU.

3. Based on your understanding of the university's direction and your personal


aspirations, set specific and measurable goals that you wish to achieve during
your time at CTU. These goals should be aligned with both your academic
pursuits and your desire to contribute positively to the university community.

4. Develop a step-by-step action plan for each of your set goals. Outline the tasks,
resources, and timeline required to achieve them.

5. Ensure that your action plan reflects your commitment to the values and
principles of CTU.
