Mobile Application

As technology advances in today's society, so does the number of people who utilize

computers. Technologies are efficient and dependable, and they make difficult tasks easier

for humans by providing software systems and applications for their specific needs. Every

field around the world is affected and shaped by information technologies. According to

(www.enostech.com), "technology affects every area of our lives. The way we carry out our

business and interact with others is influenced by technology. It has enhanced socialization

and productivity, among other spheres that touch our daily lives." He also stated that "the

power of the internet has changed everything and made the entire globe a small village. All

our recent inventions are attributed to advancements in technology. There are many things

that we can boast about when we talk of technology in the current century." According to

Turalbayeva, et al. (2021) that throughout the years, technology improvements have made

people's lives substantially easier and more productive. In an annual statistic growth rate of

IT industry over the last 4 years starting on 2018 to 2023 it states that 104% of emerging

technologies are expected to be one of the largest growth rates of information technology

industry. These new emerging technologies can help organizations in scaling on businesses,

improving productivity, and enabling global communities to form new ideas and resources

that can be easily shared.

Information technology changes in the blink of an eye, and that will never stop, as

will the dependency of people on technology. According to Wardynski (2020), "Today’s

world is built on the technology that humans have invented and advanced over thousands of

COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
years. The rate at which technology has advanced has made life almost indistinguishable

from what life was like even a century ago. We are very much dependent on the technology

we have. This dependence does not just refer to your inability to put down your phone for

more than a few hours -- it refers to the many technologies that you likely take for granted

that may have saved your life and made your current life possible without you even realizing

it."

Information technology has made significant contributions to a wide range of

businesses and related fields. Kalinina, et al. (2020) stated, "information technology is not

only the backbone of a society, but also a very important catalyst for the desired change in

education in the race to educate learners as individuals who can produce the future

development of new technologies."

Information Technology is applied in different industries such as finance,

manufacturing, data services, telecommunications, commerce, and education.

Information Technology in Finance

Money is one of the categories of resource allocation, so finance is concerned with

the management, creation, and research of money and investments. Businessmen can see

how information technology is involved in this industry. According to Huang (2020), this

analysis surveys and analyzes the literature on the application of deep learning models in the

critical finance and banking domains to systematically evaluate the model pre-processing,

input data, and model evaluation. Learning has been widely used in computer vision, natural

language processing, and audiovisual recognition. The overwhelming success of deep

understanding as a data processing technique has sparked the research community's interest.

Financial processes can be easy and efficient while still being secure and accurate

with the help of information technology. According to (blog.skillsuccess.com), "Online

purchases, online banking, and even in-house transactions are made possible with the help of

IT. As a result, all financial institutions need information technology. In addition, they handle

a lot of data and take care of massive amounts of numbers, so they need the sort of

technology that can ensure their data’s safety and accuracy."

According to Bilyk (2021) that the applications of software solutions in the industry

have enabled financial technology (FinTech) firms to develop innovative solutions. For

instance, it has led to the development of online payment systems, better risk management,

cybersecurity solutions, advanced analytics, cloud processes for better collaboration, among

others. These have proved pivotal for financial services to thrive. Adekunbi (2021) stated,

“Open banking is reported to have generated $7.29 billion in 2018 and is expected to reach

$43.15 billion by 2026. Open banking gives new fintech companies the ability to leverage

big data to provide better — and more customized — services, helping people lower their

debt, increase their income, and make more profitable investment decisions.” According to

Puntillo (2021), “The global fintech market has reached over $100M in value and is expected

to surpass $300B by 2030. An increase in funding and investments in fintech are supported

by predictions of further advancements in banking, payments, lending, financial planning,

and insurance. Investors and technoptimists are buying in and expecting to see fintech growth

and widespread/pervasive adaption.”

Information Technology in Agriculture

Studies on information and technology IT-based e-agriculture have shown significant

gains in practice, such as access to effective information assistance for decision making and

COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
enhanced productivity. According to Wang, et. al (2020), “Innovation and progress in

blockchain technologies have changed the information technology sector worldwide.

Researchers believe that e-commerce in agriculture requires successful marketing operations

in order to improve farmer income. Furthermore, research the main region that helps an

agricultural operation to boost yields from such a farm. Agriculture has become more modern

as a result of the application of information technology trends. Due to the outstanding work

and security features of researchers, engineers, and technicians have been keen to develop its

application in wider areas such as agricultural production.”

Das (2021) said, “Farmers need information on the latest varieties, changing weather

patterns, crop production techniques (crop rotation), and improved agronomic practices to

produce a high yield. Information technology can play a critical role in ensuring the farmers

access this information, regardless of their agro-ecological location.” She also added, “This

knowledge gain assists the farmers to improve their farming skills. Consequently, farming

practices have improved yielding excellent thus improved farming, resulting in high yields.”

According to Goedde et al. (2020) that if connectivity is implemented successfully in

agriculture, the industry could tack on $500 billion in additional value to the global gross

domestic product by 2030, according to our research. This would amount to a 7 to 9 percent

improvement from its expected total and would alleviate much of the present pressure on

farmers. He added that past advances were mostly mechanical, in the form of more powerful

and efficient machinery, and genetic, in the form of more productive seed and fertilizers.

Now much more sophisticated, digital tools are needed to deliver the next productivity leap.

Information Technology in Data Services

The data services industry is also known for using technology innovation to gather,

store, and process data using automation to make each task easier to perform. According to

Schymanietz, Jonas, & Moslein (2022), "data collected from interconnected devices offer

wide-ranging opportunities for data-driven service innovation that delivers additional or new

value to organizations’ customers and clients." They also stated that "the use of data makes

service innovation more complex. Data adds new attributes, including a data-oriented

culture; issues of data access, data ownership, privacy, and standardization; as well as the

potential for new revenue models."

According to Goasduff (2020), "By 2023, graph technologies will facilitate rapid

contextualization for decision making in 30% of organizations worldwide. Graph analytics is

a set of analytic techniques that allows for the exploration of relationships between entities of

interest such as organizations, people, and transactions. It helps data and analytics leaders

find unknown relationships in data and review data not easily analyzed with traditional

analytics. For example, as the world scrambles to respond to current and future pandemics,

graph technologies can relate entities across everything from geospatial data on people’s

phones to facial-recognition systems that can analyze photos to determine who might have

come into contact with individuals who later tested positive for the coronavirus."

Data services improve the productivity of employees and making analysis faster and

more efficient. According to (www.formpl.us/blog/), “The lack of collaborative efforts and

ineffective communication as a reason for failures in workplaces with 86% of employees and

executives affirming this – thus highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in

enhancing productivity. In general, it takes a significant amount of time to gather relevant

data for effective work efficiency. Furthermore, increasing the frequency of data collected is

limited by the availability of the right resources to enable collaborative efforts. The input of

improvements in technology in this aspect has made it such that rapidly increasing volumes

of data are analyzed. By employing the science of “Big Data,” companies are able to

generate insights on previously untapped data and leverage this for better estimation and

intuitive approaches to their decisions. Digital innovations are now making it such that

communication is enabled amongst factions in organizations. With that, access to real-time

data, subsequent updates, and effective analysis are made available to fill in data gaps within

organizations.”

Information Technology in Commerce

The information technology industry is using e-commerce as the application of e-

business connected to commercial transactions, and e-business web-based technologies are

rapidly providing competitive growth for businesses in different ways. Rang (2021) stated

that Internet business may help to convey monetary development, expanded business

opportunities, improved intensity, and improved access to business sectors. The IT industry

is always evolving and expanding. New improvements in PCs and cell phones are shaping

how the world communicates, works, and invest free energy. These current improvements

like landline phone and fax, yet the ICTs supplying the biggest extensions for independent

businesses are cell phones, electronic mail, and other Internet-based administrations. Ismail

(2020) and King (2021) said that emphasizing the significant importance of accounting

information systems and information processing capability. As a result, the strategic use of

technology and information technology adds to the firm's value, causing it to adopt newer,

more information-based business strategies which utilize emerging technologies to increase

their annual revenue by 58%. While the Internet is still regarded as an important means of

communication for some individuals, it has evolved into an important data asset on

businesses and other related fields. There is no doubt that technology enables organizations

to accomplish more in less time while maintaining product or service quality. This helps by

lowering personnel costs or directing them to areas where they are most required. According

to (themyouandme.com), the importance of technology in commerce cannot be understated,

and companies all around the world are relying on developing technology to assist them

increase their competitive advantage, as well as to drive strategy and growth.

Technology helps businesses in terms of customer service as well. According to

Bhagat (2021), “Artificial Intelligence is a buzzing technology of today’s digital age. In e-

commerce, it has a significant role as it provides valuable marketing insights into customer

preferences. It guides them into creating better marketing campaigns for business. This e-

commerce technology also offers the automation and transfer of data management operations

to boost performance. In the e-commerce world, retailers rely on AI for various unique

business aspects. Around 74% of businesses believe that user experience is essential for

growing sales and conversions. AI provides a personalized user experience that 59% of

customers say impacts their shopping decisions. It can facilitate a shopping experience that

supports customers’ personal preferences.”

Information Technology in Telecommunication

Information technology has made major contributions to telecommunications as

well.Yadav (2020) said, “Providing telecommunications services requires a huge amount of

WEB-BASED ALPHA-1 TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES
ENROLLMENT SYSTEM WITH MOBILE APPLICATION 8
COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
IT support. IT costs account for almost 5% of telecommunications revenue compared to

industries such as manufacturing, utilities, and food, which spend more than 2% of their

revenue on IT. In telecommunications, complex and constantly changing pricing systems

require sophisticated IT systems for mediation, rating, and billing. Real-time processes, such

as billing prepaid accounts, require a fully IT-automated process chain. In addition, IT has

become and will continue to be an integral part of telecommunications products and

services.”

According to (trade.gov), “Digital transformation is being led by local

telecommunications firms and emerging broadband companies, and these efforts are

contributing to strong telecommunications industry growth. Major telecommunications

players will spend a combined total of $15 billion on the rollout of their services over the

next three years. Legacy telecommunications players lead the 5G rollout with a combined

total of 4,000 5G sites across the country. Emerging broadband providers are focused on 5G,

mobile services infrastructure, and satellite connectivity projects.”

According to (kpmg.com), “With technology at the heart of the services they provide,

addressing skills shortages in the technology team must be a key priority for any telco. The

standout finding in relation to the sector is that their number one skills demand is not in cyber

security as it is for almost every other sector, but in artificial intelligence - underlining the

extent to which telecom companies are seeking to integrate greater automation and cognitive

technologies across their operations, both to speed up processes and services, and to capture

client usage data and analyze it. Leading organizations have made large public

announcements backed with major investment to upskill and retool the workforce to become

more data literate and enabled with future ready technical skills. With technology teams

likely to be working in a remote model for the foreseeable future, maintaining a strong

culture and leadership, including accommodating flexible working patterns, will be important

criteria in empowering teams to deliver against heavy workloads.”

Information Technology in Education

Technology also became a big help to carry out teaching and learning amidst the

COVID-19 pandemic lockdown that resulted in temporary academic freeze. According to

Talib, Bettayeb, & Omer (2021), "With the advent of COVID-19 arose the need for social

distancing measures, including the imposition of far-reaching lockdowns in many countries."

The lockdown has wreaked havoc on many aspects of daily life, but education has been

particularly hard hit by this unprecedented situation. "The closure of educational institutions

brought along many changes, including the transition to more technology-based education."

They also stated that "incorporating technology into education exposes students to modern

and relevant technologies." This helps both students and academic staffs close the

technological literacy gap while also fostering expertise in online and digital media, thereby

preparing students for the job market in an increasingly technology-reliant world of

digitization and automation.

According to (www.unesco.org), more than a billion learners worldwide have been

affected at some point by the school closures that were initiated in response to the COVID-19

pandemic. As of November 2020, over 300 million learners spread across over 30 countries,

which constitute approximately 18% of total enrolled learners, have been kept out of schools

due to lockdown.
WEB-BASED ALPHA-1 TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES
ENROLLMENT SYSTEM WITH MOBILE APPLICATION 10
COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
Information technology also makes the students' lives easier, and this also allows

them to experience the advancements of technologies while learning. Himmelsbach (2022)

stated, “With an Internet connection, we have access to information at our fingertips 24 hours

a day. We can find almost anything online, in its most up-to-date version. For students, this

means access to everything from research materials and educational apps to interactive

edutainment and open resources from prestigious universities around the world.” She also

added that, “Rather than memorizing facts, students learn by doing and through critical

thinking. This could be as simple as taking an interactive quiz in class or participating in

tech-enabled group discussions. Or it could be as involved as playing educational games,

practicing in science experiments in a virtual lab or taking a virtual field trip.”

Keeping up with the advancements of technology helps educational institutions

provide faster and efficient enrollment systems. According to Brillantes et al. (2020), “The

system handled the profile information of the students and teachers of the entire web-based

system for the Subic Bay Colleges Inc. under the K12 curriculum program and the voting

system for the supreme student government. It was a portal for the students and teachers to

experience an easy and comprehensible system for their school related activities such as

checking of users’ profiles, account balance records, keeping records of grade examinations,

teacher’s evaluation, announcements, and an automated voting system of the supreme student

government organization for the senior high school. It aimed at improving the development

of the school’s communication with students and teachers by creating a website for their

school related activities. The system addressed the disadvantages in the manual processes in

terms of accuracy, accessibility, consistency, security, and speed.”

WEB-BASED ALPHA-1 TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES
ENROLLMENT SYSTEM WITH MOBILE APPLICATION 11
COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
Other institutions also applied the advancements of technology to most of their

processes. According to Dicen, Taganas, & Beltran (2022), “The owner of the Forest View

Resort used paper-based system in recording such as record sheet and logbook for gathered

data of their customers’ transactions. The main problem they encountered was that they could

not easily monitor the information on dates or time when the rooms were available. This

manual reservation increased the possibility of human error. Transferred and sorted records

that were done manually might lead to inaccuracy of data. Furthermore, manual-based

reservation system took up too much time to find the previous records. As a solution to those

problems mentioned, the researchers proposed the web-based reservation system with mobile

application to enhance the manual process of the Forest View Resort to automate their

system.”

Alpha-1 Technical Training and Consulting Services is a private institution that

follows internationally recognized curriculum, training platforms, and instructional modules.

The institution utilizes the most updated and best practices in all training methodologies to

ensure enrolling students and participants are provided the opportunity to receive similar and

parallel training curriculums as used in the U.S. and other international countries. The

institution approved our proposal to develop an enrollment system that will direct all

responses to their database. However, some of their current processes are in the manual-

based system. In line with this, the proposed system aims to develop a Web-based ALPHA-1

Technical Training and Consulting Services Enrollment System with Mobile Application that

include the following areas: (1) creating a registration form that includes the student's

personal information and the type of training they are applying for; (2) database system that

records all the responses from the enrollment form; (3) end-user system that allows viewing
WEB-BASED ALPHA-1 TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES

COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
of their personal information and the details and schedules of their enrolled courses; (4)

admin system that shows the courses' list of students and schedules; and (5) backup schedule

of the database system. This will make the company's enrollment process faster, reliable,

accurate, and efficient.

Description of the manual student registration and enrollment of ALPHA-1 Technical

Training and Consulting Services

The ALPHA-1 Technical Training and Consulting Services is currently using

manual-based processes in terms of student registration, enrollment, and storing of student

records according to their courses. Each student who wishes to enroll will have to answer a

Google form provided by the institution that contains all the necessary information about the

student. After the students have provided all their information on the Google Form, the

institution will now have to generate all the information using the spreadsheet generator of

the Google Form itself. After this procedure, the assigned person will now finalize the

spreadsheet database by creating another spreadsheet manually according to different

courses. Every course should have a different spreadsheet that contains all the information of

each student enrolled. Finalization of the list of students is important because not all students

who have answered the Google Form are 100 percent sure that they are going to proceed with

the enrollment. Only those students who have confirmed their enrollment will be listed down

on the finalized spreadsheet database manually.

The current procedures of their enrollment and registration are very time-consuming

for the person in charge of managing the manual database of ALPHA-1 Technical Training

and Consulting Services. It is also prone to human error, such as forgetting to list down a
WEB-BASED ALPHA-1 TECHNICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES
ENROLLMENT SYSTEM WITH MOBILE APPLICATION 13
COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CIT), MONDRIAAN AURA COLLEGE
particular student who is officially enrolled because there is no computer database to store

updated records.

Prospects from the new Alpha-1 Technical Training and Consulting Services Web-Based

Enrollment System with Mobile Application

Capabilities. The Alpha-1 Technical Training and Consulting Services Web-Based

Enrollment System with Mobile Application offers solutions to the problems encountered in

using Google Forms when enrolling students. The proposed web-based enrollment system

has the ability to register, edit students’ shift schedules, change courses, drop out or fail

students, and view and print certificates.

The administrators and students have different account roles or user-levels in

accessing the system for security protocols. The web-based enrollment system has the ability

to minimize the problem of the administrators in manually inputting the student’s

information in the Google Form, which consumes time and hassle.

The Alpha-1 Training Center System has the ability to help students enroll or manage

accounts in any place as long as there is an internet connection without going to the training

center. The system will notify the students if there is an update about the schedules and

activities in their enrolled course. After the student is enrolled, the system will save the

student's information to the database. The database can only be viewed by the admin and

staff of Alpha-1. The students' information is secured because the system has a password that

only the admin and staff have. The system can be accessed anytime, even when the

institution facility is closed.

Enhancements. The Alpha-1 technical training and consulting services will let the

administrator update the content of the uploaded website without shutting it down. This will

avoid unnecessary delays in the processes performed by the end-users during the enrollment.

The researchers will include a responsive design for different mobile devices with

different screen resolutions. This will help customers view the contents of the website

clearly. Rather than designing multiple sites for different-sized devices, this approach

designed one site but specified how it should appear on varied devices. The website's layout

will respond to the devices that access it and deliver the appropriate output for the devices

used. Also, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Bootstrap will be applied for the enhancement

of the website’s appearance.

Mobile Application. The propose Online Enrollment System for the Alpha-1

technical training and consulting services will have an additional feature of a user-friendly

mobile application that allows the staff and students to view information about the

enrollment remotely using their mobile devices. It will prevent time-consuming processes

because users can access it anytime, anywhere. It will reduce human effort because of the

automatic enrollment processes.
