presence in local retail outlets, Sapphire has expanded its reach to international markets, such
as the UAE, Qatar, and the UK, while maintaining a robust online presence.

opportunities are all crucial for Sapphire's sustained success in the dynamic and competitive
Pakistani clothing industry and beyond.

KEY CHALLENGES FACING THE BRAND

During our interviews, several areas of concern emerged for Sapphire as a brand, highlighting
key challenges that require attention to enhance brand value and image in line with its brand
identity.

First, our findings revealed that Sapphire's women's clothing line is the primary driver of
revenue and the first association consumers have with the brand. However, there is a lack of
resonance with the rest of the sub-brands. To create an effective brand positioning, Sapphire
needs to extend its focus beyond the women's line and incorporate this positioning into its
communication strategy.

Additionally, Sapphire is perceived to be a socially conscious brand that addresses societal

issues through initiatives such as environmentally friendly tags and supporting
underprivileged communities. However, it appears that these initiatives are not
communicated effectively to consumers. Enhancing communication around these initiatives
will allow Sapphire to showcase its commitment to social responsibility.

Furthermore, our research revealed that Sapphire is recognized among other brands and
stands out in the minds of consumers. This recognition creates a sense of community and
exclusivity among Sapphire customers, fostering a bond based on shared tastes and
aspirations. Strengthening this sense of community and exclusivity can make the brand even
more desirable to its target audience.

Lastly, we identified a challenge in attracting younger women. While they aspire to purchase
Sapphire products, they perceive the brand as mature, luxurious, and simple compared to
their preferred aesthetic. Brands like Khaadi and Beech Tree resonate with this segment with
their colorful and playful styles and more affordable pricing. To address this, Sapphire may
consider exploring ways to infuse more vibrancy and affordability into its offerings while
maintaining its brand essence.

These key challenges lay the foundation for the brand audit focus and outcomes. By
examining the brand value, brand architecture, brand portfolio, and potential brand extension
opportunities, Sapphire can strategize its brand revitalization efforts and reposition itself to
meet the preferences and aspirations of its target audience.
