Meg Agarao-Espiritu Ex Officio Member (President, LnB-Laguna) (Official Business) RESOLUTION NO. 778, S. 2022 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATION ‘COMMISSION (PRC) THE CREATION OF A SERVICE CENTER IN SANTA (CRUZ, THE CAPITAL TOWN OF LAGUNA. ‘Author: HON. ATTY. KATHERINE C. AGAPAY Vice-Governor ‘WHEREAS, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is a three-man ‘commission attached to the Department of Labor and Employment. Its mandate is to regulate and supervise the practice of professionals wha constitute the highly skilled manpower of the country; WHEREAS, the PRC is mandated to regulate and supervise the professional sector and administer licensure examinations for professions, such as Accountancy; Aeronautical, Agricultural, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Geodetic, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mining, Naval Architecture and Marine, and Sanitary Engineering; Agriculture; Architecture; Chemistry; Criminotogy; Customs Brokers; Dentistry; Environmental Planning; Fisheries Technology; Foresters; Guidance Counselling; Interior Design; Landscape Architecture; Librarians; Page i of 3 Reso, NO, 778, S. 2022 P0014, Marine Deck Officers; Marine Engineer Officers; Master Plumbers; Medical Technology; Medicine; Midwifery; Nursing; Nutrition and Dietetics; Optometry; Pharmacy; Physical and Occupational Therapy; Professional Teachers; Radiologic and X-Ray Technology; Social Workers; Sugar Technolagy; Veterinary Medicine; Real Estate Service; Respiratory Therapy; and Psychology; WHEREAS, PRC Service Centers offer frontline: services such as Application for Licensure Examination, Renewal of Professional Identification Card (PIC), Duplication of PIC, Initial Registration, Certification, and Authentication; WHEREAS, Laguna has a total population of 3,382,193 as of the 2020 census; WHEREAS, considering the bulk of registered professionals in Laguna and nearby provinces frequenting the: current PRC Service Center in Santa Rosa City (1 district), the opening of another PRC Service Center ta be located in Santa Cruz (4" district), where the Provincial Capitel is located, will greatly help these professionals access the services of the PRC more effectively. The proposed PRC Service Center in Santa Cruz will also be cost-efficient since travel time to Santa Rosa City and that of the PRC Regional Office in Lucena City are both at least two (2) hours from Santa Cruz and the other 15 towns comprising the 4" district of Laguna, plus the nearby tovins of Rizal Province; WHEREAS, the Metro Central Mall, located in Santa Cruz, Laguna, wherein both the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) local offices are located, already signified its intention to provide an office space for the proposed PRC Service Center in Santa Cruz, rent-free; WHEREFORE, upon motion of the Honorable Alejandro Y. Yu unanimously seconded by all Board Members present there being a quorum: RESOLVED: To APPROVE, as this Honorable August Body hereby APPROVES: A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION (PRC) THE CREATION OF A SERVICE CENTER IN SANTA CRUZ, THE CAPITAL TOWN OF LAGUNA. RESOLVED FURTHER: That the Philippine Regulatory Commission, the Department of Labor and Employment and Honorable Mayor Edgar T. Yu unanimously seconded by all Board Members present there being a quorum RESOLVED; To APPROVE, as this Honorable August Body hereby APPROVES: A RESOLUTION REQUESTING HIS EXCELLENCY FERDINAND “BONGBONG' ROMUALDEZ MARCOS JR.
