    Vinaye Ancharaz is a Principal Research Economist in the Development Research Department of the

    African Development Bank since October 2010. In this capacity, he is the Task Manager of the Tunis
    Conference. His duties include doing research and providing policy advice to the Bank. Prior to joining
    the Bank, he was senior lecturer at the University of Mauritius, where he held various administrative
    positions, including Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics, Director of the MA Economics
    programme, and WTO Chair-holder. He has researched and published in the area of international trade
    and development in various peer-reviewed academic journals and books. Dr Ancharaz holds a BSc
    (Hons) in economics from the University of Mauritius and MSc and PhD degrees in international
    economics from Brandeis University, where he was a Fulbright scholar.
