About MNLU
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai) is a
prestigious legal education institution in India. Established in 2014, it
operates as an autonomous law school, following the model of other
National Law Universities in the country. Situated in Mumbai, a

About NFSU
The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) was established in 2020 as an
Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Its primary mission is
to enhance the criminal justice system by providing quality research and skilled
manpower in forensic science and related fields. NFSU, headquartered in
Gandhinagar, has expanded its presence since obtaining Central University and
Institute of National Importance status in 2020. It has established campuses in New
Delhi (2020), Goa (October 2021), Tripura (March 2022), Bhopal (August 2022),
Dharwad (January 2023), and the first off-shore campus in Uganda (April 2023).
NFSU has also launched academies in Pune and Guwahati in 2022-23 and established
the Institute of Forensic Science Skilling and Training in Imphal, Manipur, to supply
skilled manpower in the field of forensic sciences.

NFSU is at the forefront of modernizing forensic investigation facilities and has


developed the Mobile Forensic Van (MFV), NFSU is providing MFVs to District and
State Forensic Science Laboratories as part of the Central Sector sub-scheme for
Modernization of Forensic capacities (2021-2026).
The university plays a pivotal role in training a wide range of professionals, including
police officers, judicial officers, forensic experts, security experts, and vigilance
officers, in various aspects of investigation and security. To date, NFSU has trained
over 30,000 officers in India and more than 5,000 foreign police officials and forensic
scientists from 75 countries. Beyond education and training, NFSU offers
consultancy services to law enforcement agencies, including Cyber Security Audit,
Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing, Forensic Audit and Testing, and
Psychological Counseling.

NFSU has established a range of Centres of Excellence, including those specializing


in narcotics, cyber security, forensic psychology, DNA forensics, and futuristic
defense studies. Additionally, NFSU houses an ISO 9001:2015 certified Ballistics
Research Centre and Testing Range for high-level research and testing of items like
body armor, armored vehicles, glass plates, and helmets. These centers reflect NFSU's
dedication to advancing various fields within forensic science and related domains.

Police reforms aim to enhance law enforcement, strengthen

within the police force. Mahila Police Stations, specifically
dedicated to addressing women's issues, have gained
prominence in several states, including Maharashtra. This
event delves into the feasibility and viability of such dedicated
stations in Maharashtra, assessing their effectiveness in

concerns.
