A Tribute to the Great Healer: A Ballpoint Pen Art

by Amabel T. Siason

For my final project I chose visual arts. I tried my hands with ballpoint pen

art for the first time. Common and affordable I found out that it can be an

alternative art supply which can be used to create unique artworks.

It was challenging though since pens usually leave permanent marks that

cannot be erased. It required a lot of patience and precision on my part. But it was

all worth it!

I have two reasons for choosing this project. First, I decided to pursue this

kind of art because I wanted to try something new and challenging. What is even

more exciting is that, I leveled up the challenge by doing abstract art.

Second, I want my work of art to give tribute to the source of all talents and

the great healer – Jesus Christ. Throughout my life’s ups and downs, He has been

my solace and strength.

Looking into my artworks, I can’t believe I was able to come up with those.

It’s amazing to be able to do something that I love and it brought me a different

kind of high that I was able to create pieces of arts that I can be proud of.

The four art works depicted Jesus Christ as Saviour, as Son of God in the

Holy Trinity and as the Risen Lord who sacrificed Himself for the salvation of

man. These arts will forever remind me that I am loved and I am saved.

I am truly grateful for the course, Healing with the Arts, for unleashing the

artist in me.
