Introduction
"RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" extends the RealTurb effects to the Clear Air Turbulence (CAT)
Areas found around the world!
CAT areas are areas around the world, usually defined in the lateral (geographical position) and
vertical (altitude) plane with forecasted turbulence (issued as part of a SIGMET that pilots receive).

"RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" constructs a 3D envelope of these real CAT areas worldwide,
taking also into account parameters like position of the aircraft into the envelope, trend of the forecasted
turbulence etc to calculate the turbulence effects. For example an aircraft being within the CAT area
but near the defined vertical edges will most likely encounter less severe turbulence compared to
being in the "core" of the CAT area. Similarly a CAT area with a weakening (WKN) trend will give
less severe turbulence compared to an area with intensifying (INTSF) trend etc.

With all these put together, "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" aims to simulate the weather
behavior, when the aircraft is flying into these areas thus increasing the immersion level to the simmer!

Features include:
- Global coverage of real world CAT areas
- Realistic (custom made) turbulence effects
- Custom made turbulence sound (linked to aircraft G load - also tunable from ini file)
- Easy installation and usage (Just install and forget - RealTurb will autoload when the simulator starts)
- No user input/setup required for the effects to work. All is analyzed automatically!
- Compatible with any aircraft, being default or add-on
System Requirements
Hardware
There are no additional system requirements to run "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" other than
the ones required to run Microsoft Flight Simulator and/or the ones required to run your add-ons.

Software
- Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) required

Installation

To install simply run RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global_1.0_MSFS.exe

(using administrator rights) and follow the on-screen instructions.

Default "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" path will be your:

"Documents\RealTurb\RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS"

however you can choose any path you want during the installation process.

Uninstallation
If you need to uninstall "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS", please use the ADD/REMOVE
PROGRAMS item in your Windows Control Panel.

NOTE: RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS should automatically start when you load the simulator.
A system tray icon should confirm that RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS is successfully connected to
the simulator. In the unlikely event that system tray icon is not present after the simulator is loaded,
you can manually load the application from the start menu (RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS, folder).
INI File Settings
RealTurb_CAT_Areas_Global.ini file, found within "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" folder,
(by default located into User's Documents\RealTurb folder), gives control to the user
over two parameters.

[Turbulence]

Scalar: (Possible values between 50 and 150 - default value is 100)

This parameter represents the overall turbulence effects strength as a percentage.
50 means 50% strength of turbulence effects where as 150 means 150% (ie. effects multiplied by
a factor of 0.5 and 1.5 respectively).

This affects ONLY "RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS" turbulence effects
and ONLY when within a CAT area.

[Sound]

TurbSound: (Possible values are 0 and 1 - default value is 1)

Turbulence Sounds Enabled (Value = 1) or Disabled (Value = 0).

GLoadThreshold_1: (Possible values are between 75 and 95 - default value is 88)

Value divided by 100, representing the aircraft's G-Load threshold, where "lighter" turbulence
sound triggers. Eg. A value of 88, means 88/100=0.88g - Below 0.88g this sound triggers.

GLoadThreshold_2: (Possible values are between 75 and 95 - default value is 83)

Value divided by 100, representing the aircraft's G-Load threshold, where "heavier" turbulence
sound triggers. Eg. A value of 83, means 83/100=0.83g - Below 0.83g this sound triggers.
