ABSTRACT:
The design was entitled the Improvised Coin Sorter. As people dealing with the different coin
denominations. The extent of the improvised coin sorter cover 5different coins namely 5 cents,
25 cents, 1 Php ,5Php and 10 Php. The researchers aimed to create an improvised coin sorter that
would accurately and efficiently sort the Philippine Peso coins for the benefit of all as it lessens
the fatigue that comes with manual sorting. The sorting part of the design is basically mechanical
as it sorts the coins through their physical size.
After performing some tests with the Improvised Coin sorting, the group could say that an almost
accurate and reliable machine was created as manifested by the results it made. Improvised Coin
sorting has been practical issue in various financial transactions. The arrival of improvised coin
sorting machine, people used to count the coins manually. This a very time consuming and
tedious job for those who handle the work. Mistakes are common due to various reasons such as;
eye tiredness, fatigue, too many coins cause confuses in eyes and etc. It is applied to modern
innovative design and it is the device meeting the need in places for many small denominations
of currency. The machine has improved labor productivity, and also brought many conveniences
to life. Improvised coin sorting machine has the ability to sort from a random collection of coins
into separate bins for denomination.
Separating out coins by hands can be exhausting and time consuming. Why waste all of that time
sorting and rolling coins when a machine could help you complete that task in the half of that
time? The time you save can then dedicated to another important task that you might not have
gotten to otherwise. Time is money, and the less time you have to spend counting and sorting
money, the more time you can actually make money. (Santiago 2014)

ABTRACT:
The design was entitled Coin Sorting and Counting Machine for it is to sort and count the
Philippine coin denomination except for the 5 and 10 centavo coin. This Was done to
be able to help different institutions that deal with large number of coins in their daily
operation. Some of these are banks, churches, Charitable institutions and the transport
sector. The sorting part of the design is basically mechanical as it sorts the coins through their
physical size then counts them as they pass through the phototransistor. After performing some
tests 3itht h e C o i n S o r t i n g a n d C o u n t i n g M a c h i n e , t h e g r o u p c o u l d s a y t h a t
a n a l m o s t accurate and reliable machine 3as created as manifested b! the results it made.
The Philippine coin sorter works by sorting the coins by their diameter and counts the coins
using a photosensor. The device uses a geared motor that drives the propeller which is
connected to a rotating plate 3hich feeds the coins to the sorting arm. The sorting arm then
sorts the coins by the diameter and d r o p s t h e m t o t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g c o n v e y o r .
T h e c o u n t i s t h e n s t o r e d o n a computer system for it to be totaled. (Lactaeaon et al.,

ABSTRACT:
This study is focused on providing automation and elimination of errors occurring in coin sorting
and handling. This study used the Gizduino ATMEGA 328 microcontroller and Arduino
programming language respectively. The machine will only process the Philippines peso coin,
five peso and ten peso. The final output of the system is the packed 20 pieces of coins of the
three-denomination mentioned. The Machine passed the overall evaluation of the committee.
Hence the result indicates that the machine is of good quality evidently to be technically and
physically functional, capable of performing its system process.
