nordwulf There are two different roof antennas. One with the telephone antenna (Europe only) and one
without (dummy). This antenna is not used for radio reception. Those antennas are integrated in
Frank the rear windows.

idlerider A couple of addenda to this, for the benefit of the non-expert:

iii) to remove the dog guard sockets over the side windows, use a small screwdriver to release the

- I didn't find it necessary to undo the top of both C-pillar trims - YMMV

rpiereck Mine is a MY 2000 with the dummy antenna (and also some cat bite marls on it!) and no
microphones, hence no hands free kit. I was wondering what was that antenna as I have neither
Renato Piereck satnav nor handsfree. Odd.

dave225 Hi
Can anyone confirm if this shark fin antenna mounts with just a single hole - what diameter? - and
Join Date: 19 Dec 2012 can I mount another aftermarket antenna in its place? I have a Blaupunkt single DIN head unit

idlerider Confirm single hole - but it's square! About 10mm, IIRC. Almost ashy aftermarket antenna should
do, even if you have to ensure a watertight seal with a dab of silicone.

Pbuck1 I don't have On-Star in my car so the 'shark tooth' roof antenna is not functional. The covering on
it is in bad shape. Anyone else have this problem? Someone had tried to patch it with a rubber

replacement?
