Electricity Experiment Report

Name: Gon
Title: Electricity experiment – Ohm´s Law
Hypothesis

Batteries have an internal resistance and this affects both the potential difference and
the current flowing in the circuit.
Overview

Materials:
5 wires
1 resistor
1 battery
1 ammeter
1 voltmeter
Procedure

The materials are connected in series, except the voltmeter that will be used to measure
the potential of the battery by measuring from the battery terminals. Next we need to
make a change to the internal resistance of the battery and we will observe the
changes.

no internal resistance With Internal resistance

Results
Before making the increase in the internal resistance of the battery, the current is 0.9 A,
when the potential difference is 9V, When the internal resistance changes to 5 ohms,
the current decreases as well as the voltage supplied by the battery .
Uncertainty & Error

Uncertainty:
● The measure of the voltage with a precision of ±0.1V and the current of ±0.1A.

Conclusion/Summary

In conclusion we fear that the current intensity is directly proportional to the connected
potential difference and inversely proportional to the internal resistance of the battery.
By Ohm's law we have that i=V/R, the more the resistance increases, then the intensity
will decrease, and if the potential difference also decreases, then the intensity will also
decrease.

Application

Among the most useful applications we have that: a series circuit generates the same
amount of current between the elements that belong to the circuit. Secondly, the
batteries should not generate resistance so that they can generate the greatest amount
of voltage that feeds the circuit, but this is an ideal battery and it is very difficult to find
the right materials so that they do not put up resistance.
