Lesson Idea Name: Night vs day

night to day) and (sun, moon, stars) in the day and night sky.

What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea? The student learning goal is to be able to
improve from the feedback they receive from the digital activities. Also, the students should be
able to make clear, concise observations on the night and day sky.

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic

of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation: The student in the lesson will be responsible for making observations
of the real world and connecting these ideas to what is being taught in this lesson. The
teacher will be responsible for assisting the students when needed and referring to the
feedback from the students to improve their thinking. The students will stay engaged by
engaging into videos or digital activities and refer to the feedback given to them from the
activities. The way I would provide authentic real world tasks to motivate the students is by
giving them the task to make observations at night and during the day of characteristics that
make them different. The student learning will be assessed through Blooklet.
Managing student learning: the tool used will cause students to become more active social
learners by encouraging them to communicate with their peers to show how they are doing in the
activity. This will be shown through a quick chat time that will have a set time limit.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): the components of UDL is shown through the digital activities
assigned to the students throughout the lesson. These lessons encourage students to reflect on
everything they have learned.
Reflective Practice: After designing this lesson idea I do believe this tool will help students build an
understanding in a different way because of the use of technology in a safety manner way. I look
to implementing the fun activities included in the lesson because it’ll show the students how fun
technology could be when learning.
