Present perfect:

The present perfect, also known as present perfect simple or present perfect in
Spanish, is one of the tenses of the present in English. Its correct use is
necessary to express experiences or memories that occurred a long time ago, but of
which memory is still kept or are currently relevant. Thanks to this, its use is
very common and it is important to know it perfectly.

Use:

The "present perfect" is used to describe


An action or situation that started in the past and continues into the present.

Structures and conjugation of the present perfect:

The present perfect has three structures: affirmative, negative and interrogative,
which are ordered in the way that you can see in the tables below, and in which you
can also find different sentences with their translation into Spanish.




Example:

• I have just finished my exam (Apenas terminé mi examen)


• He has already washed the dishes (Él ya lavó los platos)
• The teacher has not corrected the homework yet (La profesora no ha
corregido la tarea todavía)
• They have been in a relationship for 12 years (Ellos han estado en una
relación por 12 años)
• We have worked in this shop since January (Nosotros hemos trabajado en
esta tienda desde enero)
