Export and import are two things that are interrelated. Please explain your thoughts on the
export and import policy in Indonesia. You can also add the examples to support your ideas.

Answer:

Indonesia has proven itself to be a profitable market and has made serious efforts to improve
its import and export procedures as the country targets to become the world’s fourth-largest
economy by 2045.The implementation of the new Omnibus Law has been touted as
Indonesia’s most serious attempt at business reforms, with the implementing regulations
intending to encourage investments, promote financial inclusion, and ease imports and
exports.

However, businesses importing certain types of goods will require an additional import
license from the MoT. Depending on the company’s circumstances, this could be for:

 An importer registration license;

 An import approval license for producer importers (companies that import materials
used in the manufacture of their own products); or
 A general import approval license.

Businesses importing into Indonesia must provide the following the regulation documents.
Indonesia can be live without tax and export import is one of the Customs duties in Indonesia
vary from 0 to 170 percent, with most imported items attracting duties in the range of 0 to 15
percent. The amount of duty depends on the type of goods imported, based on the product’s
HS code.

The export process usually begins with a sales contract process between the exporters
and importers through which the payment can be made via the letter of credit (L/C) or
non-L/C methods with legal entity required.These can be limited liability companies,
public company, or a cooperative.

Businesses exporting out of Indonesia must provide the following documents:

 Bill of Lading, Airway bill or other transport documents such as a postal receipt,
cargo receipt;
 Commercial Invoice;
 Customs Export Declaration;
 Packing List;
 Export declaration of goods (PEB);
 Insurance Certificate;
 Export Permit; and
 Certificate of Origin.

You must also determine if your goods are eligible for export. The industry-specific type
of products that can be exported can be found in the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 97/M-
DAG/PER/12/2014 on Export Provisions for Forestry Products as an example. It is important
to check this because there could be a restriction quota or restrictions that prohibit a certain
type of product from being exported. The export regulations in Indonesia also states that
all exported items must have a Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang (PEB). This must be
submitted to the Customs and Excise Office. There will be several documents that must be
submitted to the relevant technical bodies involved too. The documents must be available
when required to obtain your final approval. Your PEBs must be submitted at least seven
days before your scheduled export.
Both Export or import is one motion of economics growth but the regulation should be tight
and clear because the impacts is not only for economics but also the security,the local
resources, market, currency, and local procedure should protect all the possibilities. Not only
the regulation and law but also the supervisor to make sure that all the economics
process safe and based on the regulation. No tax avoidance or the illegal trading. And
need a good team work on it and the minister of trading in charge to control this trading. Not
anly comodities but also people. Every country place restrictions on the products that can be
carried in. Although import limits may appear to be an undesirable burden for everyone
entering the country, there are multiple good reasons as to why government officials prohibit
certain commodities. These reasons could include everything from security concerns to the
likelihood of illegal materials being smuggled in, as well as the desire to use such items to
destabilise the country’s leadership. Certain items are subject to import restrictions in
Indonesia.
