Problem Solving Activity:

Formulate precise instructions for the following everyday tasks below:

1. Write a recipe for cooking Macaroni and Cheese or any food of

your choice. (5 marks)
How to make Macaroni and Cheese:
1. Get a pot and fill it halfway with water.
2. Then add a pinch of salt and a bit of oil to the water.
3. Put the pot on the stove and turn on the stove(on high heat).
4. After the water comes to a boil, put in your macaroni.
5. After about 7 minutes on high heat check the macaroni to test if
the texture is to your liking.
6. Get a strainer and pour the macaroni from the pot into the
strainer.
7. After the water from the macaroni pot is out, and the macaroni is
in the strainer, put in your cheese mixture.
8. Stir the cheese mixture into your macaroni for about 2 minutes.
9. Plate your macaroni and cheese and enjoy.

2. Write instructions to give directions to someone that is trying

to get to Jamaica College from Half-Way Tree. (5 marks)
How to get from Half- Way tree to Jamaica College:
1. Firstly select your mode of transportation(car, bus,
motorcycle etc.)
 2. Go straight until you see sovereign center where you know
you are on the right path.
3. After passing the sovereign center go straight onto old hope
road.
4. Continue going straight until you see the address 189 Old
Hope Road.
5. You will then see Jamaica College on your left.
6. Make a left turn into Jamaica College and then you have
reached your destination.

3. Write instructions to tell a novice how to download music from

the internet. (5 marks)
How to download music from the internet:
1. Go onto your web browser.
2. Type in the genre of music you want into your search bar.
3. After you find the genre of music you want to listen to find
the specific song you wish to download.
4. Click on that song.
5. Tap on the 3 dots at the right hand corner of your screen.
6. Select download.
7. After downloading, enjoy your music.
