Zero Food Waste
Zero Food Waste
According to a 2022 report by the Thailand Environment Institute, Thailand generates 2.34 million
tons of food waste each year. This amounts to 6,400 tons of food waste per day. Food waste is the
largest component of municipal solid waste in Thailand, accounting for 64%.
The report also found that the following are the main sources of food waste in Thailand:
•Households: 48%
•Restaurants: 24%
•Markets: 19%
•Food processing industry: 9%
Generative AI can be used to match people with excess supply of food with people who have demand for food
in a number of ways. For example, a generative AI model could be used to:
Develop a food matching algorithm. This algorithm could take into account factors such as the type of food, the quantity of
food, the location of the food, and the dietary restrictions of the people involved. The algorithm could then generate a list of
potential matches, which could be presented to the users of the system.
Create a food sharing platform. This platform could allow people to list the food that they have available to share, and allow
other people to search for and request food. The platform could also use generative AI to recommend potential food matches
to users.
Develop a food delivery system. This system could use generative AI to optimize the delivery of food from people with excess
supply to people with demand. The system could consider factors such as the location of the people involved, the type and
quantity of food, and the availability of delivery drivers.
People with excess food could list the food that they have
available to share on the platform. They would need to specify
the type of food, the quantity of food, the location of the food,
how
and any dietary restrictions.

Users could then contact each other to arrange for the transfer
of food.
The technology behind the generative AI approach to matching people with excess supply of food with people who have demand for food is based on the
following principles:
1.The user inputs their food needs (type of food, quantity of food, dietary restrictions).
2.The NLP module processes the user input and extracts the relevant information.
3.The ML module uses the NLP output to generate a list of potential food matches.
4.The GNN module uses the food graph to generate recommendations for potential food matches.
5.The system presents the user with a list of potential food matches, ranked according to the recommendations of the GNN module.
6.The user selects a food match and the system arranges for the food to be delivered to them.
