Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Most individuals today depend on money to survive, and among them

are one of the things that students needed the most daily was money. Spend on
things like food, transportation, wants, and school expenses. Additionally, they
want to follow trends and purchase anything they desire while still being
students and members of the Generation Z. Additionally, students are required
to pay for anything they receive in their allowance. Students have the tendency
to spend their allowance on what they want rather than what they need and that
is one of the reasons why they can’t manage their allowance effectively.

Being able to manage your own finances well is crucial for young
people as they begin to live independently in today’s economy, which is
changing quickly. Because students frequently get an allowance to cover their
everyday expenditures and spending money, high school is a crucial period to
learn about money. Students in Grade 11 at Signal Village National High School
who are concentrating on courses like accounting, business, and management
have a unique challenge among the range of classes available in high school.
They must learn how to balance the demands of their academic workload with
sensible money management.

Students often receive their money once each week, frequently on

Mondays, to meet their weekly costs. However, there are some circumstances
where students may get their money every month or even every day. Teenagers
receive this money, sometimes referred to as a “allowance,” while they are
enrolled in school. It is intended to assist individuals in making purchases of the
goods they require and desire.

delicate mechanism, their interaction with minimum-savings regulations, that

makes a budgets useful commitment.

This study is also based on the “Rational-Choice Theory” by Adam

calculations to make rational decisions and arrive at results that are in line with

their own personal goals. Given the restricted options available to them, using

rational choice theory is anticipated to provide results that give people the
