1. INTRODUCTION
The aim of this report is to keep SAIPEM on touch with the status of the activities carried
out at site. A survey has been carried out at SOC area in order to evaluate the current
states for a period of one day .

2. SCOPE OF WORK

During the finalization of the FEED of the Upgrade of the local market gas supply project,
SAIPEM was requested to evaluate the suitability of operating the existing SOC scrubbing
facility which needs to be taken into account as an integrated part of this upgrade project.

Pigging process will be managed by SOC in regular basis with coordination with all
engaged parties in order to clean and inspect the condition of the existing 34” gas local
market supply pipeline..

5. GENERAL ACTIVITES AND AGENDA

o To provide SAIPEM with all the required information from the site and to highlight any
problem with the design.

o Develop a marked up P&ID reflecting the true existing lines and instrumentations
connected to 34’’ SOC pipeline.

o Evaluate SOC kicker line No. 12’’-NG-2501-C2 and balance line 4’’-NG-2512-C2 if they
really are currently connected as per P&ID no. 342506 BPFM12609.

o Evaluate flare connection from GS 24’’ (from SOC area) routing to the existing 16’’ flare
valve used in 2015.

o Identify closest tie in point for electrical power supply (MOV & lighting) and instrument
Air.

o Scarper Trap foundation status.

o Accessibility to scraper trap (for pigging operation) versus new tie ins.

o General status of scraper trap instrumentation (Psv, local instruments, vents etc…).

o ZAUARAH - MELLITHA pack up pipeline to be discussed with MOG team

6. SURVEY DETAILED TECHNICAL EVALUATION

 Process and utility department

I. SOC 34” pipeline:

The SOC 34” ( 34”-NG-260C-C2) pipeline were fed with gas form wafa costal fiscal
metering through MOG 24” (40-301-005-TG-24”-BA301-Z) with Tie-in point upstream the
valve-174. An As-Built P&ID drawing is developed for the SOC 34” pipeline with all
relevant instruments, valves, and existing lines. Refer to attachment 1.

II. Scraper launcher status (PL-2100):

From the site the Scraper Launcher is not connected to any lines (Vent line, balance line
and the kicker line). The instruments and valves (BDV and PSV) are not exist.

The kicker line is exist with two manual valves installed on as shown in fig (1).

III. Utility connections:

The possible tie-in points for instrument air and nitrogen to the SOC Area were assessed
by tracking of the existing instrument air header no,40-180-551-IA-2"-AC101-N and
nitrogen header from MOG pipe rack, which has been advised and confirmed from client
that the connection to the header is the most convenient location. Refer to pic in fig (2).

 Piping Layout Department

o New blow down lines and the tie-in point:

The preliminary pipes have been routed from pig launcher (vent line & PSV line) and
from GS line no.06-360-0-HG-818-24”-01C-V, all those lines will be collected in one
common header and will be send to 16” blow down valve used in 2015.

This proposal has been discussed and preliminary confirmed with GS representative’s.
refer to preliminary layout in fig (1), and pic in fig (2).

The blow down header length will be more or less 85 m

The preliminary pipe routing has been made from scrubber to 24” GS line and the new
tie-in location has been marked up on the line no 06-360-0-HG-818-24”-01C-V as below
in the preliminary layout in fig no. (3) & and pic in fig (4).

This tie-in has been relocated and take place on the spool pipe as marked up below, this
point has been discussed with GS represented and the confirmation has been taken.

o Instrument air connections for SOC yard.

The possible tie-in point to the instrument air header was assessed by tracking of the
existing instrument air header no,40-180-551-IA-2"-AC101-N from MOG pipe rack, which
has been advised and confirmed from client that the connection to the header is the
most convenient location, the rout will be developed during the detailed phase and it can
be done at office.

The same header has been recommended in the previous site visit report.

 General Notes:

o Expansion site close to pig launcher has easy accesses for construction and
maintenance without interfering with on-going operations.

o The closest tie in points for electrical power supply (MOV’s & lighting ) as per client
recommendations will be taken from MOG resources and will be close to SOC yard.

o Regarding Mellitah-Zuwarah pipeline: MOG team representatives at site confirmed that

24” pipe will be utilized as a pack up to SOC pipeline in case of shutdown or any
obstacles, and at the same time will feed Mellitah-Zuwarah pipeline project.

o Visual inspection has been conducted for scrubber foundations, no observed cracks,
dimensions as mentioned in the below fig’s (9,10 &11), drawing and other information
needed to let civil department make their structural checks and validation should be
investigating during detailed engineering.

o MOG team has recommend (SAIPEM and GS) to take in their consideration the ongoing MOG
blow down study related to Mellitah-Zuwarah pipeline project ,if there is a possibility to utilize the
same blow down connection specially all the connections and the tie-ins close to 24” GS and
SOC yard.
