forms of valid and invalid arguments discussed in the video lectures uploaded, indicate the law or fallacy used for
each. You do not have to copy each given on your answer sheet, just write valid or invalid and state the law or fallacy
that will support your answer.

1. [(q ∨ p) ∧ ¬p] → q

2. [(q → p) ∧ ¬p] → ¬q

3. [(s → m) ∧ s] → m

4. [(j → y) ∧ ¬j] → ¬y

6. [(b → e) ∧ e] → b

E. Let U = (−∞,∞) be the universal set and M = (−6, 5) and W = [−3, 9). In interval notation, determine the following.

1. M ∪ W

2. M ∩ W

3. M − W

4. W − M
F. Let U = {x|x is a lowercase letter in the English alphabet} be the universal set. In roster method

and in alphabetical order of arrangement of elements, determine the following sets.

1. B = {x ∈ U|x is in the word broadcasting}

2. E = {x ∈ U|x is in the word students}

3. A = {x ∈ U|x is in the word arguments}

4. B ∩ E
