OmniScan SX\MX2 Training – Indication Table – Overview
 The indication table is used to record flaws or indications and the associated
readings and appears in the OmniScan SX\MX2 and OmniPC reports.
 The indication table and its related functions are located in the
>Measurements>Indication Table menu.

 The indication table is always active but can be displayed or hidden by selecting it in
the Options section from the title bar.
 It is not necessary to show the table to add entries directly from the readings area.

 To include an image of the current data view layout in the indication table with the
flaw record and report, set >Measurements>Indication Table>Mode: Setup>Save
Image: On.
 When including an image with the indication table entry, ensure that the desired
layout is selected, all data views zoomed appropriately, and the cursors are
positioned for the defect sizing.

 Indications can be added at any time directly from the readings area.
 Position cursors and zoom accordingly in each data view prior to adding the
indication to the table.
 Touch and hold the touch screen or right click mouse in the readings area to display
the menu below and select add indication.

 Prior to adding an indication ensure that the most relative A-scan is selected.
 The readings that are recorded in the indication table will appear in the report and
are relative to the selected A-scan.
 In the example below, the depth of the indication in gate A (DA) was 21.68mm and
was calculated based on the 66 degree A-scan selected by the operator.

 The indication table is saved in the OmniScan SX\MX2 Opd data file and can be
recalled at any time.
 Entries created in the indication table consist of the following:
– Entry #.
– Scan position. The probe position (Beam center point) on the scan axis.
– Index position. The position of the wedge face on index axis.
– Group number.
– The selected A-scan. (Focal law)
– Readings. The eight customizable readings that are currently selected. All 8 are recorded
but only visible by toggling between two groups of 4.
– Skew. The orientation of the probe relative to the scan axis. (Typically 90\270).

 Comments can be added individually for each entry in the indication table.
 Additionally, another comments section is available relative to the entire inspection in
the report that is generated from the indication table.
OmniScan SX\MX2 Training – Indication Table – File Save
 After creating indication table entries the data file must be saved.
 Select >File>Data>Save and override the existing data file to retain the indication
table entries.
 The data file can also be saved by use of the file save button on the instrument.
