April: Ma sorry po, wala po akong ganang kumain.
Pwede po bang mauna na ako sa inyo? Gusto ko
muna pong magpahinga.
Cael: Ganon ba? Ay siya sige, magpahinga ka na.
Erickson: Proud kami sa ‘yo palagi, anak.
April: Thank you po, ma, pa.

April: Nakaka-drain ang araw na ito. Nursing
student pa lang ako pero pagod na pagod na ako,
paano pa kaya kapag isa na talaga akong ganap
na registered nurse. *falls asleep*

Narrator (Bea): April dreams of herself as she drifts
off to sleep. In her dreams, she is a registered
nurse having different stages of nursing
experience. The novice, advanced beginner,
competent, proficient, and expert.

Scene 2 - Novice
*open curtains*
Zyrah: Nurse Jo, nakita mo ba si nurse April?
Josie: Ahm, hindi po eh. Baka po nakita ni Chezka
‘cause they were together a while ago.
Chezka: I’m not sure doc, the last time I saw her
is.. Oh, there she is doc (pointing at April who’s
sleeping)
Zyrah: Hmm, looks like someone’s having a good
sleep. Hindi naman ako na-inform that this hospital
is now a hotel. Nurse April, wake up. Nurse April,
wake up!
April: Yes doc!
Zyrah: What are you doing, nurse April?
April: I’m really sorry, doc. I didn’t realize na
nakatulog po pala ako. This will never happen
again.
Zyrah: Hindi na talaga. Stop acting like a sloth
inside this hospital. Now I need you to please check
on Mr. James. Make sure to check his vital signs
and if he has already taken his medications. Am I
clear?
April: Yes doc.

April: Good morning, Mr. James!
James: Good morning din, nurse.
April: I-checheck ko lang po ang vital signs n’yo
James: *will suddenly have a seizure*
April: *panicking* OMG anong nangyayari?! Sir,
are you okay??? Help! I don't know what to do.

Scene 3 - Advanced Beginner
*open curtains*
All group 1 members are in this scene. May
mag-a-act as nurses, patients, and doctors (except
kay Ranah ‘cause her role here is Patricia Benner).
While everyone is acting, magfi-freeze lahat
April: *slightly panicking* Huh? What’s happening?
*Ranah enters*
April: Sino ka? Wait, Patricia Benner?
Ranah: Tama ka, April. I am Patricia Benner, the
one who developed the Novice to Expert Concept.
April: Hindi ko maintindihan, ano po ang
nangyayari?
Ranah: Nasa loob ka ng isang panaginip, April.
Alam mo, isa kang mahusay at pursigidong nurse.
You’re still on the beginner stage of nursing
experiences, but I can see that you’re doing the
best you can. Nursing is hard and there are still a
lot of stages to experience. Kaya kapit lang, April.
Alam ko na kaya mo.
*everyone will unfreeze and do their parts while the
narrator is talking*
Narrator: April becomes more passionate as a
beginner. She is slowly putting on respectable
performances and has garnered prior knowledge in
actual nursing situations.
*closed curtains*
Scene 4 - Competent
*open curtains*
Gelo: Kumusta ang pakiramdam mo, anak?
Yasmine: I still feel kinda dizzy, dad. Medyo
masakit din po ang ulo ko. *will pass out*
Jairah: Oh my god, anak are you okay? What
happened?
Gelo: Can somebody help?
April: Hello, ma’am and sir. I am nurse April, ano
po ang nangyari?
Jairah: Nurse, please help my son. Bigla na lang
siyang hinimatay.
April: Alright ma’am, please calm down. Dito po
muna kayo sa tabi so I could check on your son.
What’s his name po?
Gelo: Dylan
April: Okay, sir Dylan can you hear me? Your son
is not responsive, please call an ambulance.
April: *check for pulse and normal breathing, starts
cpr*
(after a minute, tutunog ang ambulance)

Scene 5 - Proficient
*open curtains*
Angel: *acts like she’s about to give birth*
Gelo: Tulong! Manganganak na ang asawa ko,
tulong!
(lalapitan ni April and Chezka)
April: Nurse Chezka, tawagin mo muna si doc
Dylan.
*chezka exits*
April: Ano po ang pangalan? Gaano na po siya
katagal na nagle-labor?
Gelo: Angel po, mga 2 hours na po.
*chezka and dylan enters*
Chezka: Sir, dito muna po kayo sa labas.
Dylan: What’s the name of the patient? Paki-ready
na ng equipments.
April: Angel doc, sige po.
*then proceed na sa pagpapaanak
*closed curtains*
Scene 6 - Expert
*open curtains*
April: So how’s the patient?
Dylan: Okay naman po doc
April: Na-check mo na ba ang vital signs?
Napainom mo na siya ng gamot?
Dylan: Yes po
April: How about yung patient sa room 307,
napainom mo na ng meds?
Dylan: Hala ngayon po ba ‘yon? Nakalimutan ko
po. *then exit, punta kay Yasmine*

April: Oh ano, napainom mo na ba?
Dylan: Yes po, sorry po nawala po talaga sa isip
ko.
April: Hindi na ito mauulit, nurse Dylan ha? Ang
simpleng pagpapainom ng gamot sa mga patients
ay napakahalagang bagay. Alam mo, naiintindihan
kita kasi naranasan ko rin ‘yan. Be more
responsible next time, okay?
Dylan: Yes po, head nurse April. Thank you po.
*closed curtains*
Last Scene

Cael: April, gising na at baka mahuli ka sa classes

April: *yawns* What a dream.
Cael: Anong dream, anak?
April: Ah wala po ma.
Erickson: Oh siya, halika na’t saluhan mo kami ng
mama mong mag-almusal. Alam kong gutom ka na
dahil hindi ka nag dinner kagabi.

Narrator: After what happened in her dreams, April

becomes more inspired and motivated in pursuing
her program, BS Nursing. Apart from that, she has
realized that this is all just a start of her journey and
that there is still a lot for her to take in. Just like
Benner’s theory, each step and experiences will
build her to become better and do better.
