ICONS:

This icon appears immediately after the start of the cycle and it indicates that the door is
locked.

This icon indicates that the cycle is running: this can be seen by the rotating movement of
the arrows.

This icon warns that the paper is missing in the printer or, that the door of the printer is not
correctly closed. The machine, however, will continue to cycle normally.

B This icon indicates the type of cycle selected (B, S or N).

The autoclaves are equipped with software which is able to communicate and to write data
onto a USB key. Some sterilisers have a USB connector already on board the machine; others
require the STS-Datalogger system which must be connected to the RS232 serial port: both
systems are OPTIONAL.
When the USB key is inserted in the connector (or on the Datalogger), the USB icon appears
on the display. With the USB, on board the machine or with the Datalogger system, it is
always necessary to read the specific enclosed manual carefully to prevent data saving
errors.
DATA SAVING BEGINS AND ENDS ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY IF THE USB KEY IS ALREADY
INSERTED IN THE CONNECTOR BEFORE THE CYCLE IS STARTED.
This icon warns that the fresh water has reached the minimum level and cannot start a new
cycle. Recharge the machine with water to carry on with a new cycle.
Only the VACUUM TEST can be started even if you see this icon.

The fresh water tank is full. If you press again PUMP the display will warn, by displaying
“FULL WATER RESERVOIR”, that it is not possible to charge with more water.

When you see this icon you cannot start any cycle: you must empty the waste water tank.
Let the water drain completely before closing the tap.

PROGRAMMING MENU & “EMERGENCY CYCLE”:

You reach the programming menu by switching the machine on by the ON/OFF switch and by keeping
pressed at the same time the SELECT button until you see the pre-set language. When the display shows

WATER CHARGE BY PUMP

This page is used to select the type of water charge on the machine. If the user uses an external charge
(demineraliser), by pressing the DOOR and PUMP buttons the chosen value can be set and by keeping
pressed the SELECT button for 5 seconds (until the beep confirmation sound), it records the operation.
By pressing the START/STOP button you go to…

REPRINTING OF THE CYCLES

This function is most important as it allows the operator to re-print the last 10 cycles made by the
autoclave, making it very simple to understand the problems which may have caused the fault and to set
the alarm. It is possible to re-print the cycles by keeping pressed the SELECT button for 5 seconds. By
pressing the START/STOP button you go to …

EMERGENCY ON/OFF
The setting “Emergency ON” eliminates the phases of initial vacuum and it allows the unit to function in a
thermodynamic way. This function becomes very important when the machine is unable to reach the set
vacuum, thus causing an alarm. By the function “EMERGENCY ON” you by-pass the vacuum phase it is
possible to look for the fault by using the pressure of the machine (see relative graphic).
You activate the “EMERGENCY” cycle by selecting the chosen feature by pressing the DOOR and PUMP
buttons and by recording the data by pressing SELECT until the confirmation sound is heard (by
activating the “EMERGENCY” cycle, the selection of all the other types of cycle is inhibited until you set
“EMERGENCY OFF”).
By pressing the START/STOP button you go to…

TO ENTER AND LEAVE LANGUAGE AND USER MENU

By pressing and holding the SELECT key when switching on the autoclave (Green switch) you will enter
the user and language setting, by keeping START/STOP pressed for a long time you can return to the
main menu. You can return to the main menu at any time using this procedure.

2. DEVELOPMENT OF THE CYCLE

SWITCHING ON:

When the machine is switched on by the ON/OFF switch, it asks to open the door to allow the
alignment of the sensor with the room pressure: on the display in fact, you will read “OPEN
THE DOOR” and no button apart from DOOR is activated. A double beep informs that the
operation is complete and you can then use the other buttons.

PRE-HEATING:

When the machine is switched on it automatically starts a pre-heating phase of the sterilization
chamber by the heating element: the external probe (TRS) will stop the heating at 80°C.

It is possible that some versions of the software do not include the pre-heating
or that they reach a different temperature (usually 80°C).

IT IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO START A STERILIZATION CYCLE, even though the external

temperature has not yet reached the pre-set parameter.

STARTING OF THE STERILIZATION CYCLE:

The commencement of the cycle by pressing the START/STOP button is accepted only if there
are the ideal conditions, made by:
1. sufficient water level:
In case of lack of water, on the display you will see the corresponding icon.
2. door closed:
The door is closed when the DOOR button is activated.
3. dirty water level icon not showing:
In this case, on the display you will see the corresponding icon.

ATTENTION:

NEVER START THE CYCLE BY KEEPING THE MICROSWITCH PRESSED DOWN BY HAND
WITH THE DOOR OPEN

After having reached the value of the last thermodynamic discharge (or
10 √ √ √ of the last foreseen phase of vacuum) value the EV2 closes and the
machine restarts the heating and the steam injection until it reaches the
parameters of the selected cycle.
Sterilization.
The temperature and pressure parameters are kept in the set range by
11 √ √ √ the help of the heating element (in the first part of the pressure the least

The vacuum pump aspirates the steam left in the chamber.
END CYCLE.
14 √ √ √ It is possible to open the door by the DOOR button.

5. SAFETY SYSTEMS
LIST OF SAFETY SYSTEMS:

The safety systems on the models class B, S and N are of two kinds:

Electric or electronic Pressure transducer

Temperature probes
Solenoids valves
Safety thermostat (MANUAL RESET THERMOSTAT)

Mechanic Safety valve

Door micro-switches

INTERVENTION OF THE SAFETY SYSTEMS:

PRESSURE TRANSDUCER: Intervenes as described in the alarms chart.

TEMPERATURE PROBES: Intervene as described in the alarms chart.

SOLENOIDS VALVES: During the sterilization phase intervene upon command of

the transducer when pressure exceeds the required value.
The EV2 opens for 1 sec. If pressure remains above the
correct value EV2 opens for 3 sec.
If pressure does not reduce, the relative alarm starts.

SAFETY THERMOSTATS: Thermostats intervene if the resistances surfaces (band and

vaporizer) reach 220°C +/- 5° .
The reset of the thermostats are MANUALLY regulated.

SAFETY VALVE: The valve intervenes if the electric/electronic control system

does not work properly. The intervention value is indicated
on the valve itself. In normal conditions the safety valve
MUST NOT INTERVENE.

DOOR MICROSWITCHES: See chap. 8.

6. VARIOUS ANOMALIES
LEAKAGE OF WATER FROM THE JOINT/BACK HOSE:

If during normal operation water comes out from the attachment or from the back pipe, it
means that the maximum waste water level sensor does not work properly. It is necessary to
intervene by checking if the sensor works perfectly as described in chap. 8.
If steam comes out from the same attachment it is necessary to use the special silicon pipe
supplied with the accessories kit and put its end into a re-condensation container.

Water can flow out from these attachments.

THE STERILIZED MATERIAL COMES OUT VERY WET:

If at the end of the cycle the material comes out too wet, it is possible to intervene in order to
improve the quality of the final drying process.

Suggestion for the technicians:

1. Check the set-up of the autoclave: check the horizontal level of support.
2. To clean the fan and the condenser radiator described as follows:

ATTENTION:
After many cycles it is necessary to perform the cooling system cleaning: if the radiator strips
are too dusty, this could cause a loss of efficiency. The vacuum pump alone would not carry
out an effective drying procedure.

Suggestions for the user:

1. Slightly turn the tray holder: this operation will enable steam condensation discharge from
the trays (see picture).
2. Use the special tray cloth: if you place them on the bottom of the trays they will absorb the
moisture and dry the instruments more efficiently.
3. When the cycle has ended, open the door and leave it slightly open for some minutes: this
operation will enable the steam left inside the chamber to fully evaporate. The heat of the
machine will help the instruments dry better.

Tray holder rotation facilitates water discharge and facilitates envelopes drying.

THE GEAR REDUCTION UNIT OF THE DOOR DOES NOT WORK:

If the door not open when the cycle is ended, even though the DOOR button has been pushed
many times.
Wait a few minutes and repeat opening operation.
If the problem persists, remove the main cover of the machine and take off the motor reducer
from its support by unscrewing the screws indicated in the picture.

THE TANK DOES NOT DRAIN OFF THE DIRTY WATER:

This problem usually occurs after many working cycles of the autoclave: it is usually connected
with a clogged drainage tap or with broken internal seals.
In both cases the following procedure must take place.

1. Remove the autoclave cover.

2. Pull off the internal pipe going from the tank to the discharge tap, paying attention to
water leaking.
3. Remove the cir-clip from the internal part of the discharge tap.
4. Pull out the tap by pulling it from the front part of the autoclave.

7. SETTING OF TEMPERATURE PROBES

SETTING PROCEDURE:

The temperature probes calibration should always be carried out while the autoclave is
operating, during the STERILIZATION phase and only by means of a calibrated control
instrument to make a comparison.
You can observe the probes set-up at any moment by keeping the SELECT button pushed
and pushing the DOOR button three times. When, in the fourth line of screen, you will read
value T01… release SELECT button.
It is possible to modify the probe default T01... (1st INTERNAL SENSOR) with DOOR and PUMP
buttons: after the probe read-out has been aligned with the comparison instrument, store the
parameter by pushing PUMP and DOOR buttons at the same time until you hear the confirm
sound. Move on to T02… (2nd INTERNAL SENSOR) with SELECT button. The variation and
storage modes are exactly the same as those indicated above.
It is possible to modify also probes P (PRESSURE), TVP (PROBE VAPORIZER TEMPERATURE)
and TRS (SENSOR RESISTANCE TEMPERATURE) but we recommend not to modify the P or
TVP and TRS settings.
Exit probes set-up by keeping SELECT button pushed.

Index:

SELECT + 3 DOOR = set-up access

DOOR = increases default value
PUMP = decreases default value
DOOR + PUMP until sound = stores variations
SELECT = moves on to the next value
SELECT keep pressed = exits set-up

Probes identification:

T01 = 1st internal sensor (visualized on the display)

T02 = 2nd internal sensor
P = pressure transducer
TVP = probe vaporizer temperature
TRS = sensor resistance temperature
