IEEE Report: Unlocking The Potential: Will Artificial Intelligence Change The World Like The Industrial Revolution?
IEEE Report: Unlocking The Potential: Will Artificial Intelligence Change The World Like The Industrial Revolution?
The artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare industry, estimated at $11 billion in 2021 and
will grow to reach $187 billion in value by 2030 based on Statista website[1]. Because of
this massive growth, the way hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms,
medical providers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare sector work is expected to
continue to face major transformations. According to Harvard school of public health [2],
although it’s early days for this use, using AI to make diagnoses may reduce treatment costs by
up to 50% and improve health outcomes by 40%.
One use case example is out of the University of Hawaii [3], where a research team found that
deploying deep learning AI technology can improve breast cancer risk prediction. More research
is needed, but the lead researcher pointed out that an AI algorithm can be trained on a much
larger set of images than a radiologist as many as a million or more radiology images. Also, that
algorithm can be replicated at no cost except for hardware.

The energy industry has seen a shift thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), which has many of
benefits that improve reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. Energy production, delivery, and
consumption are being optimized through AI-powered solutions. [4] While smart energy
management balances supply and demand in real-time, predictive maintenance uses AI to find
equipment problems before they result in expensive failures. [5] The capacity of AI to forecast
energy output depending on the climate increases the efficiency and dependability of the
integration of renewable energy sources.[6] eventually AI is leading the charge to cut carbon
emissions, boost energy efficiency, and create a more flexible and sustainable energy future by
turning data into useful information.

Data shows that AI has been instrumental in improving performance and security in networking,
significantly helping in law enforcement. AI technology works very well in managing and
controlling many activities and analyze many data quickly, some of the keys that show the AI
improvements are face recognition, crime prediction and emergency response. [7] The first point
which is facial recognition, AI has a high ability to analyze videos and pictures to identify
individuals. The second point is crime prediction, Al algorithms can be used to analyze crimes
data to predict any possible crimes and provide the information to prevent the criminal activities
and all of the data will be stored in cloud. [8] The last point is the emergency response, one
example of the use of AI in this point is the public alerts, AI systems can send alerts to the
people in many ways to inform them from any emergencies. [9] In recent events, the pandemic
of COVID-19 shows how the AI is beneficial in many ways, one way is identifying the spread of
the disease. [10]
