Job Title: Youth Coordinator


Department: Youth and Vocation

Job Summary:
The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and overseeing
youth ministry activities within the Catholic Diocese of Murang'a. This role involves nurturing
the spiritual, social, and personal development of young people within the Diocese, fostering a
sense of community, and supporting their engagement in the Catholic faith.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 Collaborating with the Diocesan Youth Director to develop a comprehensive youth


ministry program that aligns with the Diocesan goals
 Providing regular reports on the progress of the youth ministry programs.
 Providing pastoral support and counseling to the youth.
 Planning and coordinating events such as youth conferences, camps, and retreats.
 Developing and maintaining relationships with parents, parishioners, and local schools to
engage the youth in Diocesan activities.
 Identifying and nurturing young leaders within the Diocese by providing leadership
training and opportunities.
 Collaborating with other Diocesan departments to develop outreach programs to attract
and retain youth in the faith.
 Utilizing various communication channels to promote youth events, programs, and
initiatives.
 Maintaining a strong online presence and engage with youth through social media and
digital platforms.
 Promoting evangelization and mission work among young people.
 Maintaining records, budgets, and reports related to youth ministry activities.
 Ensuring compliance with Diocesan policies and guidelines.
 Any other duty as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Competencies

 Diploma in theology, pastoral ministry, religious studies, or a related field.


 Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and its teachings.
 Minimum of two years’ experience in youth ministry or a similar role.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
 Organizational and administrative abilities.
 A strong commitment to respecting and safeguarding the well-being of young people,
ensuring they are not used or misused in any way.
 Passion for working with young people.
