Taylor Swift runs her own Instagram account to directly connect with fans and promote her music. She posts about her life and leaves "easter eggs" with clues about upcoming albums. Younger fans and "Swifties" are her main audience. She hinted at songs from her Reputation album through captions before its release. A constraint is that her content mostly appeals to younger audiences. She continues using Instagram to tease her re-recorded albums and entertain fans by sharing parts of her life and puzzles for them to solve.

I decided to do Taylor Swift’s Instagram for my rhetorical analysis.
The author of Swift’s
Instagram is Taylor Swift, she does in fact run her own Instagram. It was said that Swift does this for authenticity and her running her own Instagram also gives her a way to connect with her fans more. Swift’s target audience is her fans, or the “Swifties” as well as younger audiences. The purpose of Taylor Swift’s Instagram is to promote her music, to share some of her life with her fans, and put out little puzzles (easter eggs) for her fans to figure out about upcoming albums. Taylor Swift puts out a lot of Easter Eggs that tell her fans what album is coming next before she announces. For example, she has a lot of references to Reputation coming out next on her Instagram, especially in her caption on her Eras Tour Movie Premier post. She made references by saying “Look what you generally made me do” and “Getting in the car now…”, which are references to the songs in her Reputation album “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Getaway Car”. When doing all of this on her Instagram, she not only promotes her music but also entertains her fans. A constraint Swift might face on her Instagram is that her targeted audience is her “Swifties” and the younger generations and does not address older audiences as much. Another constraint that Swift might face is if people do not understand the easter eggs that she leaves for her fans. The genre of this media is social media. Now Swift’s Instagram has a bunch of references to her new 1989 Taylor’s Version album coming out on October 27th, her Eras Tour Movie that just came out on October 13th, her Speak Now Taylor's Version album that came out in July, or her tour. The most recent posts are about her Era’s Tour movie and her 1989 Taylor’s Version album. She has posts about her movie where she is wearing an outfit that looks like it is from her 1989 Taylor’s Version album, and most of her posts have references to 1989, even if the post is not about her 1989 Taylor’s Version album. Throughout Taylor Swift’s Instagram Swift has a vault of never-released tracks (vault tracks) for her fans to solve for her Taylors Version’s album: Fearless, Red, and 1989. Speak Now is the only one that did not get a vault because fans leaked the vault tracks. Taylor Swift’s highlights all represent her different albums, as well as a highlight for her cats. Her highlights purpose is to promote her music and entertain her fans through Instagram stories.
