STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The got the inspiration for pursuing career in the technical field during 10th standard while studying
the computer-based subjects such as basics of Object-Oriented Programming. Every time code
written by me would compile and run successfully, I felt at the top of the world. That led me to
pursue career in computer science later.
Studying in India’s Top Premiere Institutes has always been a dream of mine. When I use products
and applications like Google’s suite or Facebook and come across some new features, I get a feeling
of awe and the creativity amaze me beyond words. I also get sense of pride in getting associated with
this profession. I feel inspired by those minds behind this creativity. It is this feeling, which drives me
to not give up even while working on the toughest of problems. My love for programming and desire
to learn deeply about the working of various applications and technologies, has motivated me to
apply for a Master’s Programme in Computer Science. I have basically done an inspiring four-year
course in Electronics and Communication Engineering,I would like to put to use this knowledge to do
my Masters in Computer Science. ,I am aware of concepts of signal processing and microprocessors
what got me more enthused in this area was when I learnt about microprocessors, that’s when I
realized how the two fields could be merged along with the theory I was the only student working
with MATLAB along with my theory subject digital signal processing, also being a member of the
internationally acclaimed institute of electrical and electronic engineers (IEEE currently
communication society, next year I will be enrolled for signal processing society) has given me the
opportunity to keep with the latest in today’s advancing technology. I am also used to put
MATHEMATICA software into progress in several mini projects. Along with my core academic studies
in Electronics, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities like debates, and organizing
college fests. I have completed NPTEL courses on cloud computing, C++ and various MOOCs on
Python, Java, JavaScript along with hands-on learning via various mini projects:

Library Management System: A web application using Java Spring Boot, and Microservice
architectural pattern, deployed on AWS EC2, using MySQL as a Database.
Online Bookstore: A Progressive Web App, inspired by the likes of Shopping apps from Amazon or
Flipkart using VueJS, NodeJS and MYSQL

The MS program in Computer Science offered by the IIT Kanpur will undoubtedly provide me with
the right knowledge, skills, and experiences to pursue my dream and utilize the opportunities to the
fullest extent. The practical orientation of in-depth coursework in IIT Kanpur will enable me to
acquire a clear understanding of the subjects and develop the skills to apply them in the form of
open-source contributions or in the field of applied research. I have gone through the profile and
research work of many faculty members of IIT Kanpur and found the correlation between their
research work and my domain of interest. I am confident that my exposure to such initiatives would
quite augment my knowledge base and help me lead purposeful professional career.It would be a
great pleasure and honor for me if given a chance to ensue my Masters at your highly esteemed
Institute and if given an opportunity to do master's and I assure that my work would not fall short of
your expectations. I hope that you will find in me a deserving and creditable student for your
