Birthday Celebrant: John Calabria

To our birthday celebrant, family and friends, a joyful and blessed day to everyone.
There is this quotation coming from Frank Herbert which says” The mystery of life is not a
problem to be solve but a reality to experience.” Our celebration today is not superficially
sprang from nowhere. However, it has concrete reference of reality and it reminds us, as well
us John, the value of life, its meaning and purpose. The quotation itself give us motivation to
live life to the fullest, not wasting it by living on stressful ways. Indeed life’s challenges may
come on our way but we should not spent a lifetime experience solving this problem. Even if
life itself is mystery, we should spent it making happy and thoughtful moments that worth
cherishing at the end of the day.

Besides, birthday is an event that worth to celebrate for. It reminds us fundamentally of

our existence here on earth. It is a continuous journey, counting the age that adds up but
uncertain about the next. It is worth celebrating for because you don’t know how much time
you have in this world. It is worth celebrating for because your existence gives significance, to
your family and friends whose undying support were self-moving. It is worth celebrating for
because not all celebrates their day of birth the same as you did today. Many want to reach this
age but unluckily they couldn’t. Some spent their wealth, purchasing life-machines to support
the life of their love ones but still it wasn’t enough. This could be the reason why life is valuable
and why birthday is significant.

I believe that if there is a happiest person this day this could be John. Celebrating your
150th birthday is indeed a blessing, a grace from above that is out pouring. Your birthday
signifies the existential presence that you have expressed along the way of your journey
together with your love ones. Let us make this day memorable, by showing to the other people
that birthday is an occasion to glimpse back to your past lives seeing how many times you fall
but courageously stand up and start again. Some would say that age doesn’t matter. But for me
age matter, especially if your celebrating your birthday. Age here is the leverage of your
existence and the numbers of victory over the challenges along the way that gives colorful
scenery of your life that hopefully you consider it meaningful.

Likewise, your birthday is an avenue to find purpose in your life. Purpose that you will
consider it as a success. Moral, and spiritual happiness gives us a hind how to achieve greater
things along the way of our existence. I believe that you are happy today. I can see in your faces
the unexplainable joy that you have experienced on your day of birth. Continue striving for
happiness, and don’t forget to acknowledge the Person from above who sustains it. Hopefully
you will remain still and don’t forget to trust in God, whose abiding presence is immanent and
securing. I know that your life isn’t perfect but I believe that you make other people happy and
trustful to God. You yourself become a model of patience and trust. Continue to inspire people,
make them happy and assist them in times of their need. Don’t forget that “we are here to
greet you on your natal day. We are here to sing you a birthday round the lei. It is a happy
birthday we are happy too. Now we sing with all our heart because we love you so.”
