Course Outline This subject treats fundamental issues for material mechanics. Under assumption of
small deformation, we can treat an elastic bodies easily and have a knowledge for m
echanical design. A following subject "Mechanical Design B" requires credits of this
subject.
All classes will be opened as online style (real time).
Objectives Learning about fundamental topics of strength of materials in mechanical engineering.
For elastic body, the concept of stress and strain should be understood. The external force, tension, compres
sion, torsion and bending are also learned.
The goal of this course is that students acquire "DP1: Expertise in mechanical engineering".
